I think it would be more difficult to push a strap through a shoulder pad if it had clips. The adjustable kind of strap would be easier as you could unbuckle it to put it through the shoulder pad. Or you could design a wrap kind of shoulder pad.
The lobster claw type probably is the hardest to get through, due to the size. I will make one for a pocket purse, the slits need to cut much wider than strap itself. Just need to test one to see if the pad will stay in place. The wrap around pad will requir snaps to close, the hardware will make the pad more noticeable, while I prefer the pad to fade into background as much as possible. Lol

That is so scary! We live in an older neighborhood so still have an unlocked mailbox at the street. I'm always afraid someone will steal something out of it, but at least we live in an isolated neighborhood without a lot of traffic. These days I usually hear when the mail truck drives by and go out quickly to retrieve the mail. When I was a kid, we had a slot through the door. That was the most secure.

Yea, it is scary! Im really worried about the important mail the thieves might have now. I know there’s nothing I could have done to prevent the break-in but I’m kicking myself for not going to grab the mail on a daily basis. It’s so cold right now, I was skipping days to avoid the walk. Hindsight is always 20/20 though. The postal worker said a police report has already been filed. Im gonna start checking the mail every day & hoping that the important stuff is yet to be delivered. I would rather a parcel have been stolen. There’s nothing more worrying than the thought of someone having access to personal financial stuff...

My son is really bad about getting his mail. It isn't on the same street as his house. I think he sometimes goes weeks without getting it. He often gets checks. I hope that most of his employers have switched over to online transfer by now.

Yea, my box is near a park, its only a 3-4 minute walk but in the freezing cold (especially when it’s windy) it feels like forever! I admittedly don’t have all my stuff online. I know I need to make the switch but I kept dragging my feet thinking the $2 paper statement fees were the worst thing that could happen. I feel so dumb for not realizing that the worst thing that can actually happen is someone stealing your mail lol . Your son should definitely get his mail more often! Tell him your internet friend got robbed of her mail & she wants to be used as a cautionary tale lmao!!

lol, I'll tell him but he has a mind of his own.

I've resisted switching things online too. When my bank sold, we were told we were going to be charged for statements but they haven't yet. If I don't get a bill in the mail, I forget to pay it. It doesn't help that they send me an email because it never comes when I'm ready to pay bills. Also if something ever happened to me and DH had to take over paying them, he wouldn't be able to do it without the paper bills. I think he would do it the old fashioned way, with handwritten checks and stamped envelopes.

When I do the taxes, it is easier for me to scan paper bills for the information I need than to look it up online and I'm also concerned I won't have access to the entire year's data that I need.

Same! I prefer paper statements because they’re easier to file away & pull out at a later date when I need them. Yea Im the exact same way, if I get an e-bill, I forget to pay it. My internet company switched to paperless billing & it’s the only bill I forget to pay on time. Im gonna have to figure out a new system though, now that I know my mailbox is vulnerable (the thieves can easily strike again at a later date), Im gonna have to make everything paperless.

One of my last purchases has arrived... A Coach catalogue which contains the Parker shoulderbag I found thrifting that created my obsession with Coach and thrifting handbags in general. The one in the back is a freebie as she hadnt sent the book for 10 days and I had to remind her. So its a sorry Im late gift..Love it.View attachment 4994248
Congrats! It looks almost new!

What's that purple one in the back called? It's slouchy, has a top handle and can be crossbody! I'm liking that size too!

I got a knock at my door today & when I opened it, I was greeted by a postal worker who was going door to door handing out new mail keys. She informed me that my neighbourhood’s community mailboxes were broken into this week. The perps stole everything. I was expecting quite a few important documents to come so I was pretty shocked by the news. Ugh, I feel so helpless & my stomach is in knots at the thought of some ill-intentioned strangers going through everyone’s private mail...
This really makes me mad. What on earth is there to steal from a community mailbox besides just letter mail?! Maybe it’s time to change passwords and such, esp with your bank. I’m really sorry this happened to you
