You know what, you’re probably right. I think me blocking only prevents them from buying from me not vice versa. I guess I’ll just make a mental note to not buy from that seller in the future
I like with eBay that I can save sellers and make notes. That way when I look at a listing I can see if the seller was saved and I look up any comments I made when I saved it. Like avoid this seller like the plague. Lol.
Many people use the same or similar Instagram or Etsy account names. It’s like my filing system.

What really grinds my gears is the fact that Ebay does nothing to punish bad sellers. I had a seller sell me a fake purse (not coach) and they refunded me but did absolutely nothing to the seller. Her feedback score is 80% and she has so many negative reviews saying her bags are replicas. Yet shes allowed to continue to have her Ebay account and sell on it. Pretty BS. I even called Ebay customer service and complained and they just said “we’ll investigate and determine if she broke any ebay rules”...It would be nice if Ebay could add a block seller option

Early on, I read someone commenting that “ I would be troubled by that 93 % feedback” for a seller. I took it as guide to bypass any seller with that feedback or lower.
It would be nice if eBay was proactive, but the reality is they’re not. That is clear. So I am informed of that before I even look at listings. They leave it to us, the general public to report fakes. RIP Sy Sims, lol, it pays to be an educated consumer. Never more true with vintage Coach. So I do use eBay, because I do feel a level of consumer protection, but have learned to educate myself as best I can as well as use the help of AT here, as the protection is only after the fact.

Absolutely, I try to do as much due diligence as I can before making a purchase. In my case, when I purchased the bag, she had a 100% feedback score and had used an authentic bag in the pictures but did a bait & switch and sent me a replica. It looks like she pulled that with multiple listings because the bad feedback all piled in at the same time. I agree, AT here is fantastic. I used to get paranoid sometimes about posting there if I found a really good deal for fear of someone swooping in and stealing it, but this community is pretty respectful of sniping listings from people. Wonder how many lurkers watch that thread though to see what people are finding!

So she had 100% feedback then 80% feedback, new seller? ETA I see your comment on the ‘pile up’.
I am sure people lurk. I won’t post anything I’m serious about. In fact, whenever I post listings, which I haven’t done lately, I am hoping someone does buy it to save me from temptation.
Or looking at a listing. Like that green Station bag with 51 watchers. Someone just buy it already.

I saw that green station bag, but that sure looks like poison ivy on the fence it’s hanging on.

I do that too but in the heat of purchasing, I forget to check my list.

Brand new listing for Pony Express. That price SMH. Do we think this could have been the one that got ripped out from under one of us recently? I don't know what color it was.

I check the feedback score but I also check to see what the negative feedback comments are, and if the seller responded, and how they responded. Some sellers get nasty in their responses. Just because a buyer claimed fake in feedback doesn't mean it is true. I once got a negative claiming fake from a buyer who hadn't even paid - it was vindictive. She had sought me out just to give me bad feedback due to me asking her a question about whether her item was authentic. I was able to get that feedback removed but anyone who checked my feedback before it was removed could have assumed it was true.

That seller always has very high prices.

Ugh. And it's not even close to pristine.

I think it is the same color. Totally possible.
