Do those of you with light colored bags find that Blackrocks or Renapur protects the bag from stains and wear on the edges? I found a putty colored bag I like but I've never purchased a light colored bag before because I'm worried it will easily get ruined.

I think both work to an extent and have some level of protection, but when you wear dark jeans, neither really stop that transfer. I found a product on Amazon called guardsmen and its supposed to help keep stains off leather and also has uv protection. I put it on all my light bags and it didn't change the color or anything.

I don’t know if this counts but I used renapur on my bone pocket purse and took it for an outing. When I came back home I could see the leather had already picked up some dirt marks so for me the renapur didn’t really help repel any marks. Bone is also way lighter than putty so mine could probably be an isolated incident.

I spray bags with Apple Garde Rain and Stain Repellent to give them a layer of protection, see link below:

Here's an older post of mine about how Apple Rain Garde saved a favorite bag from a disaster:

Years ago I rushed into getting 2 Kellys and a birkin 35 (all well used) because I wanted the Style and they were “affordable”, but they weren’t necessarily what I wanted, which was dumb to do. Like the birkin, the Kelly 35 was too big and the box calf Kelly 32 was a good size, but shouldn’t have been brown or box tbh. I wanted a bright color in swift or togo, but couldn’t afford it. All 3 were sold. Of the 3, the box calf Leather was the only one I thought was really nice And lux feeling. Half the Hermes forum is about to drop dead when I type this, but I preferred my Dooney florentine (hadn’t met vintage Coach yet) to The clemence of my birkin or my Kelly. TV does not give a good idea of the size of a birkin 35 either, that bag is so big! A 30 or a 25 is all I would ever get but they never crop up “cheap” so I have knock offs made in Florence that are really nice.

I am lead to believe barenia is quite thick and nice so I will happily make a comparison to vintage Coach, assuming it ever ships. I begin To fear the questions I asked tipped the seller off that it was barenia and I will never see it.

As long as no one here minds, I can do a side by side comparison to my Costa Rica gray willis and then it will be both on topic and a display of my new bag.
I want to chime in and say you had me looking up Evelyne, Barenia, etc, only to find out I had been pronouncing Hermes wrong all this time! Maybe I shouldn’t admit this! Haha. Anyway. My excuse is that I have no family or friends into high-end designer. I would definitely like to see a comparison, if you end up getting the bag (which I hope you do)!

Thanks. I used Paypal Credit as it had A no interest offer right now and the seller still hasn’t done whatever needs to be done to claim the payment which is weird and worrying. It can’t ship if he hasn’t taken payment yet. Sort of wish I had just used my credit card after all. I didn’t really need financing, I just figured with no interest, why not spread it out a bit. This is why not apparently :)

On youtube there is a video by JustJennifer comparing an Evelyne to a Janice Legacy that I enjoyed and I liked the woman doing it. Very well spoken and loved the Janice as much as the Evelyne, so not a label snob either. Although because the Evelyne has no interior pockets she had her things in pouchettes and then crammed them all into the Janice which has a zippered pocket and then said it didn’t have quite as much room. Get rid of a pouchette or two!

If it was on ebay, it makes no difference if you used paypal credit. If the seller didn't claim the payment it is because he set up the listing wrong, i.e. didn't put in a valid paypal address. I use paypal credit for a lot of purchases that are over $100 since they are interest free.

That’s the first video I watched! I wish there were more videos like that, comparing vintage coach to other brands.

So Ive had 2 purchases stuck at the Ebay global shipping center for over a week now. Im getting a little nervous as my packages are normally only there for a day or 2 before they get sent to clear customs. Its really sad to read posts on the ebay forums and reddit of people saying they’ve lost packages using the GSP. Right now Im hopeful that my packages aren’t lost because it would really be something if 2 vanished at the same time... with those odds I should buy a lottery ticket lmao
