Vintage Chanel - how do you tell if the leather has been retouched / redyed?

P.S. the texture of the leather looks soft and buttery to me. You can see the caviar imprints well. That’s another possible sign of original leather.
If you go back to see ChanelCanuck’s post on June 10/2020 on page 1 of this thread, you’ll see what I was trying say about the tiny stitch holes (pierces). Please look closely on the yellow leather posted in the photo.

It’s probably not been re-dyed. Leather still shows its grain.

could you post more photos, please? Maybe take photos in better lighting.

It seems to me this bag is in her original color. Thread pierces are clean without paint residue.

if you have the bag in your hand, I believe you can tell from the feel of it.

I actually asked for more photos and when i wanted to see the hologram she got crazy. No $ no photo.

Could someone help me determine whether or not this bag has been retouched? It’s extremely dry and dull. Could it be the age? It’s a one series so fairly old.

Thankyou. Once i wiped it and conditioned it sone dye came off but i have heard thats normal with vintage?

Is the leather soft?
If it’s my bag, I would believe the leather dye was original. The stitches is nice and clear.

If the dye was painted on by a brush, not by a spray gun, and the strokes had gone around the stitches, you will see two different color tone at the edges of the diamond blocks near the stiches.

I will show you a photo if I can still find it.

The vintage dye is plant base, it will come off some every time you wipe it or polish it.

Is it a Classic Flap? She must be beautiful!
