Does anyone know if VC collects tariffs at the time of purchase? I remember once buying a bag from Sweden, and paid like an extra $200 in duties at checkout. I’m really worried because my favorite seller is from China, and when I went to check out, no extra duties were included in the total. I’m super hesitant to buy if it means getting a massive bill after the bag arrives.
One thing to keep in mind, and I don’t know the answer to this, is whether additional charges will apply on May 1, or if any potential tariff percentage changes down the line will increase the rate due if the change happens while the item is still in transit.
I am personally waiting to have any items shipped from China until everything stabilizes.

Hi has anyone had a buyer say the item was not received even though the tracking shows it as delivered? VC emailed me saying they have asked the courier to confirm delivery I haven’t heard anything directly from the buyer.
If this has happened to anyone what was the result? The payment for my item is currently on hold.

After reviewing website i cannot agree more with the consensus that your site needs updating. I have been the subject of 2 offers that on acceptance have been false flags. It seems to be happening on a wide very wide occasions. Vestiaire as i can see are becoming the laughing stock of buyers/sellers/ time wasters with other selling outlets. There should be a record kept of time wasters, with a nominal fee taken for accepted offers for customers when buyers fail to acknowledge any response. Time wasters need to be kept to a minimum, but Vestiaire don't seem to care much to their detriment. Your sellers need protection from this behaviour asap.

The offers are not binding so it has always been an issue with people making offers and don’t follow through with a purchase. I have been on the site 10 years now and I would say currently I get 1 sale out of every 6-10 offers. At the moment VC add on so many fees for the buyer it often stops them from purchasing. I have had potential buyers message me to detail the charges and they can be excessive and hard to work out without making an offer.

New here but I want to add that I just took my items off of Vestiaire because the only offers I received were verrrrry lowball offers. Most of them I declined right away because it wasn’t even worth making a counter offer. I had a pair of Prada espadrilles listed (excellent condition, I bought from TRR and they didn’t fit but couldn’t return). Listed for $60 which is already a really low price and the offers were not even $40. I’ll try using a local designer consignment shop instead. I had good luck with one near me in the past.

Hi yes sadly the offers seem very lowball to the seller but the buyer actually pays a much higher amount now with all the fees. I have been really shocked with how much Vestiaire add on it makes it very uncompetitive and much harder to make a sale.

Yeah I noticed the fees are high for buyers. I felt like I was pricing my items to accommodate for that so the lowballs were a bit insulting. After reading through this thread, I am definitely not using that site anymore. It sounds like a lot of headaches. I haven’t had good luck with any of the sites so brick and mortar it shall be.

Just purchased a pair of Hermes oasis sandals in black via affirm financing and it is becoming a nightmare. It’s clearly a replica but they authenticated it as real before sending it to me. the stamping is wrong , the size of the dust bags is literally grossly different, the number of stitching to by the H.

I tried getting legitrails to give me a certificate and it came back as real which is another joke. I own the same sandals in tan and can tell these are fake - good quality fake. I knew the moment I wore them for a few mins that something was wrong. The fit of the shoe was wider and the way the shoe was rubbing my foot made me immediately realize something was wrong. I wish I had examined it closer before wearing them out of the house too.

Vestiaire want me to send it back for a second authentication to them but I frankly am thinking they will just say it’s real. Has anyone gone through something similar? I doubt affirm will be much help - so many mistakes on this purchase.

You have to be firm and insistent. It’s tough and it’s a process. Only after I tweeted and sent bad reviews did they relent. However I did sent the item back. It’s not easy and is exhausting, but I never gave up. Good luck to you!

Also I can tell you that handmade items like H shoes truly can vary slightly.

Some years ago I listed a Celine Classic Box bag on VC which I had bought several years before at my local Celine store in Europe. I sold it and sent it to them (back then there was no option of directly shipping to buyer). After a few days VC contacted me saying that the bag didn't comply with their standards(?) I had used the bag literally ONCE so it was like brand new, as were the dustbag and box. I contacted them several times explaining that the bag had been bought at a Celine boutique so being a fake wasn't an option, unfortunately I didn't have the store receipt anymore so couldn't prove the purchase. To make a long story short they cancelled the sale and sent the bag back to me in a box that was totally trashed:cursing: and I had to pay for the return aswell. I was furious and cancelled my subscription with them.

I know I’ve said this before, but I gotta stop buying from VC

Few weeks back, I bought a rare bag. Was so excited. Only to be disappointed when the seller cancelled 12 hrs later when they apparently sold it privately from their Instagram account (found the posts, the comments, the buyer & the SOLD! - all 8+ hrs after I bought & paid for it on VC)

Now, a different seller cancels a purchase with the lame excuse they can’t drop off the prepaid package (funny how that’s never been a problem for this seller before who has 46 sales & other items currently listed). Then they relist the same item for $100+ more

VC’s response is the “seller will be negatively impacted”. I ask how, when they’ve apparently done this NINE times before? VC’s response? “Due to our tools limitation, we do not have access to take down the seller's listing or deactivate her account because we do have an internal process on this. I can assure you that I have already taken note on this so that our experts review the account. I can assure you that we have an internal process on this and I have already taken down notes on here so that our experts will review their account due to their unusual behavior.”

So sellers who act unprofessionally get a stern talking to while those who sell rare, authentic merchandise find their sales cancelled & charged to have their items returned?
