Vestiaire Collective experiences?

Posted a few weeks back and am shocked to say American Express sided with Vestiaire. Long story short, I disputed the charge because Vestiaire wouldn't refund me for selling me a 'good condition' Hermes bag with tears in it even after second inspection. Vestiaire claimed to American Express that the item was still compliant and I lost the dispute (I've disputed it three times, not bothering with a fourth). Buyers please be careful and don't assume you have credit card protection against Vestiaire.
Hi, no wonder they weren’t fussed when I stated I was considering a PayPal claim. X

It’s ridiculous that Vestiaire claims to check the listings before they are approved, and yet so many fakes get through. There’s for example a fake LV multi pochette right now and people are making offers for it. 🙈 At the same time they don’t approve real bags. 😳

Sometimes reporting works.
Two weeks ago I reported a clearly fake Evelyne that moreover looked like a train wreck, and many people wanted it for 1500 € !
VC removed it quickly from the sales, glad it worked for once.

Sorry, I’m a very sad insomniac and addicted to mulberry bags for about 7 years. I’ve reported many and have even had a disagreement via their thread chat via authenticity. Some go most stay. I’m no expert but wMulberry’s the leather pad plus serial disc is about the best I can do with confidence. So that’s pretty obvious. But 🤷‍♀️. EBay’s no better.

I just said that sometimes it works.
I completely believe you (so sad).
I have been eyeing a certain Bayswater on VC, but the fear of counterfeits has been stronger so it will be on Mulberry.com or nothing (there's no physical store in my country anymore)

Apologies, I came across wrong. My fault completely. It’s just after the last few weeks just the word vestiaire sets me off. The pre loved on mulberry have quite a few Bays. Good luck and once again, apologies.

Is it possible to post pictures of the LV bag here? Just curious how they determined it is fake from pictures.
I have it for sale on another platform, so I don’t want to break any forum rules. The pictures were taken on a iPhone 15 Pro Max and covered everything in detail. It’s also a pretty easy bag to visually authenticate in my opinion, since it’s a limited edition Keepall with the date code easily visible. They also rejected two other bags from Balenciaga and YSL. Lol. The later two I bought second hand but know they are authentic.

I was reading all of the other replies, I always get nervous dealing with companies that only have e-mail or chat for customer service. It’s extremely hard to work out issues. Very unfortunate that many are having such bad experiences, hopefully things improve in your favor.

Understood. That’s quite unusual, I first thought it had no date code. Typically with date codes that’s easier to authenticate

I’m so done with VC
For the 2nd time in 6 months, they informed my buyer that the bag they purchased was damaged and/or more worn than described. The buyer never saw the bag. This was all part of their “Quality Control Inspection”.

Both times the damage was not only disclosed in the description but in photos as well. No one ever responded to my chat requests & when I requested a call back by phone, I got an email 10 min later telling me they were unable to reach me after 3 attempts (the last incoming call on my phone was 2 days ago).

I pulled all my listings & am done with them. They used to be my favorite place to sell, but ever since they acquired Tradesy they’ve gone downhill

This is their report, my description & closeups of the wear that were all in the listing in addition to numerous pics where the corners were clearly visible - all the buyer had to do was zoom in to see the wear described! Of course, I didn’t lighten or alter the pics like they did to make it look worse! :cursing:

I think VC’s quality control probably more experienced than we think they were, they probably foreseen this bag will cause trouble that’s why they wanted buyer to confirm on purchase.

Frankly, this B bag would be rejected by many consignments if summited to them, and the price is too high for the condition of it. Whoever bought it did not have any knowledge or experience in buying preowned bags.

I would relist it on VC again and emphasize more on the wear, and lower this listing price too.

Thats funny -- I paid $250 more for this bag less than 6 months ago from A Real Deal Collection in the exact same condition (although I added the mirror). Do you know much about Balenciaga bags that predate 2007? Here's a pretty good point of reference

As someone who has been buying & selling designer bags for 20+ years, I pride myself on accurate descriptions, clear photos & fair pricing. What they were claiming was unstated damage was not only mentioned in the description, but also visible in multiple photos. I have no concerns about reselling this bag when I get it back because I know what it is & the demand for it -- it was only listed <24 hours the first time

Apparently, FashionPhile isn't accepting Balenciaga bags right now
I posted about it the other day in the Bbag forum
Originally thought it was the style/year, but someone else confirmed that they rejected their newer ones as well

Yes, I have owned a city and sold it about 7 years ago for $400 ish, it was in used condition but did not have any worn through holes, no stains, it also included with its mirror.

Currently city bag older than 2017, with mirror in good used condition which means no holes / worn through edges etc, listed and sold by some consignments for about $600ish. if has holes etc sold under $400ish or still listed and unsold.

I recently bought and sold a very good used condition Le Cagole S to a consignment for buyout, I currently owns a new condition Le Cagole XS.

There's a BIG difference in bags from 2017 and bags from 2005
I wouldn't try and guess the resale value of vintage Chanel or Louis Vuitton or try and tell someone who knows their history how much vintage bags are worth. You clearly don't know everything there is to know about Balenciaga bags that predate 2007
With all due respect, the bags you mentioned, aren't even in the same league as a bag from 2005. And they are worth more because they're getting harder and harder to find

I'd love to know where to find a Balenciaga bag from 2005 or earlier with worn corners for $400ish -- if you see them, I'm sure there are lots of users in the Balenciaga forum who would love to know about them!
