Very disappointed with Kooba...

The lighter colors (desert for one) WILL show dirt and oil faster. I would spray your Kooba with a leather protectant and that way blemishes can be taken out quite easily. Natural scuffs along the way only add to the bag's character though IMO.

Have you ever seen a well-worn, top quality saddle or bridle? The Koobas will most likely take on that look which I adore. Of course, good leather needs good care so continue using the care products and they should age beautifully.

I will have to say that this Spring the bags are more delicate in nature. Everyone by now knows I have a slew of Koobas. Most I could pass off as brand new although I had them for years. However....My Rose Charlie is having issues. I have been using it for 3 days now. It was sprayed twice with Wilsons but already is showing distress. Weird spots, white scratches, worn areas. I take it in stride...live and learn. I adore the style so I hope the age spots will turn into character.
I continue to love Kooba, but for this particular bag and leather, it isn't holding up for me and I have been treating it with kid gloves which I never had to do with others.
I just took some pics of it and I realize I am too picky. The spots aren't unsightly but nonetheless there. The soft Lambskin leather in a light shade is not the best of mixes. Oh, and rubbing with your fingers seem to make it worse at times.

The only Kooba I own that might need some kid glove care is my Bonnie.

My other Koobas have leather that is like an old bomber jacket and built like a Mack truck. I could run over them with a car and no one would be the wiser. I could drop them from a 20 story building, fly them in the air with Superman and leap tall building in a single bound....ok ok..I am stretching things abit. *s

Seriously, look at some of the older Koobas, the Jillian, Jessie, Frankie and pick a darker color. Those leathers don't show a thing and are built like iron.

Why, I bet I could slap a hippo on the behind with mine, drag it through a sandpit, use it for armor in Iraq and STILL have it look nice.

Yep, my imagination is running around....someone catch it for me.

*big grin*

I agree with you SalesRep. All of my other Koobas are built for abuse. My Elisha even can take some and still look good. It's just that soft soft finish on the Charlie that is killing me. It may have to be my beat up bag if it really gets bad looking. What kills me is rain or snow doesn't touch it. It dries and looks fine. It's all these little imperfections that are coming when I'm not aware of it. Possibly it's the light bag syndrome. This is my first light colored Kooba. I told myself never but the color made me love it. Oh Gosh, I can't imagine the Ivory ones. Does anyone have a Rose or Ivory one with the same problems?

I was at Saks the other day and Hippos were really out of my price range, but when I went to TJMaxx, they were on clearance for around $99.00. I just might consider it, as that would be the true test of a Jillian's durability! :supacool:

Rose, shame on you. For 99.00 surely your Hippo will be a knock-off!!! You know you only get what you pay for!:roflmfao:

Darn!!!!! I should have known the dead give-away by his uniform pebbly behind and the cheap tassles on his tail!!!!! Thanks for the heads-up!!!

:roflmfao: :roflmfao: :roflmfao: :roflmfao:

I tell ya, those Hippo's are hard to spot. If you haven't felt a real ones pebbly behind before, you might never know the difference. Of course it depends on what season the Hippo came in. An the tassles are a sure sign. In this case you never want them braided!!!
