Venting - TERRIBLE service at Saks Fifth Ave

It seems that many companies are just now putting restrictions on online shopping and returns- see other thread "Banned from shopping at Nordstrom Rack", etc.
I'm sure there is some fraud and various mistakes with online returns, but the ENTIRE SYSTEM is not set up to deal with these new restrictions. Do they even have a way to notify the distribution center that a different coat is being returned which was an error on Saks' part? I doubt it.

I ordered a dress from Nordstrom rack and recieved a water bottle, so shipping mistakes happen all the time- and they have no plan whatsoever.
I have shopped at Saks for over 15 years and have spent thousands of dollars there. They didn’t care. I won’t shop at Saks ever again!

I ordered a pair of Converse marked down to $45. At checkout, I applied a free ship code - from their website. It seems that it puts your “sale” item back to original price to cover the free ship. This is dirty. If you don’t use FREESHIP your shoes are shown at sale price+ shipping. I’m so confused?!

I ordered something that still hadn't arrived for Saks and had the freeship code. The site wouldn't accept the code so I finally called CS. They said that once I got the item, I should call back and then they would refund the shipping costs. I ended up canceling my order a week later because another store had the item in stock sooner than Saks. I agree tho, Saks is tricky. I think they have a crappy return policy too, I believe you have to pay the return shipping if item is under their restrictions.

Yep, you have to pay return shipping. You can avoid it if you can take it in to a store to return it (not that that’s a viable option right now...).

Reactions: Addicted to bags
Sale season last summer I bought a Givenchy bag online. When it arrived I was shocked to see the strap and back of bag were completely discolored, a different shade than the front of the bag! It must have been a display bag. I took it in store to return. The associate processed the return without even looking at what was inside the box!

After this I vowed never to buy a sale luxury bag from saks online again....and absolutely never their Final sale items. No matter how tempting the price is.

I was on hold for an hour and a half for CS. He said the free ship applied to my order and wasn’t sure why that happened. He gave me his email so he can price adjust when I receive the pkg.

From your post, it looks like you have ShopRunner -- that's free two-day shipping and returns. Also, Saks card holders always get free shipping.
