Hello all! A sales associate I don't normally shop with reached out to me about the "panda" onyx alternating pave bracelet being available to order. The price tag is pretty steep $16.6k USD but it very beautiful...and I love the contrast of the onyx w/ WG.

I don't currently own any WG pieces from VCA,
and I know the bracelet is hard to come by, but for that steep price tag I was wondering what your opinions are, thank you!!
I have the onyx alternating pave bracelet. My lifestyle is very casual and I do wear it occasionally. Since I have the Perlee Clover bangle in WG and the WMOP 5 motif in WG, I do have several ways to do a stack. That said, it's not a bracelet I would grab to go to the grocery store. It's a beautiful piece and if you wear WG, I would recommend it. Only you know if you will wear it, but I love mine.

If you can still return it and want a piece in WG that can be worn without removing, I would recommend WG guilloche or WG pave over the MOP. I personally remove all my jewelry before showering, etc but these would hold up better IMHO
For WG with a 'white stone' look, you could try the chalcedony, if you can get your hands on one. I've seen them at various boutiques from time to time, but they don't look available to order now. My daughter has the pendant which she basically has not taken off since she got it in 2011, lol. While it may be a bit beat up, it's a lot better than a MOP one would be after such abuse!

So one fun thing you can do if you’re curious, is go to the bottom of the menu of the Van Cleef and Arpels website, where there is a choice of currency and language, and you can check on the e-boutique stock around the world. Kind of neat even if you can’t access it (you’d need to live in that country to do that.) This is how I found out that Canada and the US seem to share the same stock. I am also super jealous of the stock in Korea now. lol :happydance:

@Swellgal - You made me look! You were right about South Korea's inventory level......134 in stock items of Alhambra pieces. When I compare to Canada's inventory, it is typically in the low 100s or less. I've never seen so many 3 motif earrings on the site and available. I checked HK's site and if anyone is visiting, the YG 5 motif bracelet is available online for now.

Right! I did the exchange rates though and could not believe how much more the pieces cost in Korea than North America. I wouldn’t be surprised if the stock is high because Koreans could travel elsewhere and save so much money.

Was noticing how much my wg hammered earrings look like diamonds in mirror today vs my necklace. When I compare them side by side the earrings have WAY more texture than the necklace. Have not looked at my yg necklace lace yet. Wonder if intentional or different artist making pieces. Anyone else notice this? @eternallove4bag you have both.
I agree with you @lynne_ross
I noticed the same with my RG magic hammered earrings too. The earrings look like diamonds in both WG and RG. I am wondering why the difference too.

I sure wish VCA made onyx two butterfly earrings in YG at a slightly more reasonable price point. I just love the two butterfly collection but cannot understand the price point difference (even with MOP).

Just purchased my first Van Cleef piece. I bought the mother of pearl necklace as I have so many bracelets it was not looking good with my Cartier loves. I don’t take my necklaces or bracelets off. Is it true I would need to take this necklace off each shower? I will for a pool etc. What have people seen? Does it get ruined?
In their care instructions, VCA states that MoP (and malachite) should not be exposed to water, period, not even for cleaning (dry brush only). As others have stated, diamond and chalcedony are safer bets if you want to stick to white gold.

I had a similar experience today: visiting a boutique that I've shopped at before but isn't "my" boutique, the SA asked what I was looking for. I offhandedly mentioned the only thing I wanted right now was the panda bracelet, and to my shock she brought one out and offered it to me. She also mentioned that it became "orderable" at the beginning of August, so perhaps they are becoming more available all around.

Hi everyone! Today at the mall I spotted someone wearing a 5 motif pave diamond and hammer gold combination. It looked stunning in person but when I tried searching for it, I couldn’t find it on the vca site or any photos of it online. On the vca site they only have the 5 motif in pave diamond and guiloche. Is the hammer gold and diamond a special order piece?

If it was alternating hammered and pave that would be a special order (or a non-VCA piece). Hammered gold with one center diamond was a LE from about 15 years ago.
