Ok friends! So I’d love your thoughts on this one.

I think it’s rare to go DOWN in size on the VCA journey lol, but I couldn’t get the tiny rose gold hammered out of my head.. and I wanted something 100% carefree to wear around the beach, pool, ocean, camping, whatever. And / or opens up some fun layering options with other dainty necklaces.

Honest honest - does it seem too small for super casual days?

I will say the RG hammered is much more beautiful in real life than I expected.

Hi! I'll share my thoughts...

When I see your photo, I first have to look for your pendant because it is so small. Then when I finally see it, the words that come to my mind are "dainty and cute". If that's the look you are going for, you nailed it!

If you want something bigger for more "allure and chic", I would suggest the Vintage size.

For me, I find the Sweet size a bit small on you. You have a lovely neck, and you can certainly wear the Vintage size. The Vintage size is definitely everyday, and it will pop more on you vs disappear the way the Sweets does.

I know you are thinking you could layer this pendant, but the reason why you want to layer is to create more presence on your neck. So then why not just get the Vintage size and make a splash with one necklace that has a nice pop instead of using two tiny necklaces that you really can't really see the motif on you?

That's my thought to share for another point of view. Of course, this is all preference, and if you like this dainty look, Sweets is it!
Hope this helps, and congratulations to you on your new piece!

@BigAkoya thank you - i just love all of your replies.

I totally agree on the vintage vs sweet in terms of presence, and usually steer folks away from the sweet as a baseline. I guess that’s really my main debate here - bc ‘neither’ isn’t on the table anymore haha.

I actually did try on the vintage a few months ago and loved it too. But a little worried it’s more redundant with my TE. I feel like the sweet has a different vibe that’s fun.

But tell me if I’m nuts and should just go VA :)

Hi again! It is not redundant at all. Vintage is gorgeous, and many people collect Vintage pendants in all stones.

A bigger worry is you will grow out of the Sweets size, which if I had to bet, I think you will tire of it due to its lack of presence. That would be a big waste of money.

I vote Vintage all the way... what a great pop! It speaks VCA! I honestly can barely see that little Sweets, and even then, it could be any charm. Vintage looks amazing, very chic and stylish.

Hope this helps. Did I make my case?

Yes, layering is a great way to create more presence for dainty pieces.
For me, I want one nice pop, not a few tiny bubbles to create pop.:heart:

It's 100% preference on ways to wear jewelry which is why there are so many options. No right or wrong.
You have to just go with your gut feel, and for me, if it doesn't feel perfect, it is not.

I’m a big fan of the straight gold pieces for worry-free daily wear. The sweet pendant seems great for everyday- casual - 24/7 wear and layering.
My unpopular opinion- I actually prefer the sweet earrings. The vintage are too big for me for everyday….and I wish I had bought the straight gold earrings when they were more available. I wonder if others have sweet earring collections but just don’t post since they’re more casual pieces?

I'm also not a fan of the VA size earrings. I prefer sweet and magic size, but earrings are trickier to shop for because everyone's earlobes are different. There are a handful of members own the sweet pave earrings and love them. I wished VCA could expand on the sweet collection, adding more variety in the mix. I'd kill for a sweet guilloche earrings or a sweet 6 motif alternating bracelet

You’re not going down, lol. Don’t think like that, think of it that you have different styles. I own both the sweet-mop necklace and the vintage in various metals/stones. I sometimes layer them, and sometimes I love my dainty jewelry and wear it alone.

I love the RG on you, and you will use it lots, bc it’s low key, resistant to all the elements. Buy it, wear it.

It looks beautiful on you  The hammered RG color looks very flattering on your skin tone and because it’s such a carefree pendant, you will probably end up wearing it a lot more which is a good thing! Seeing the pics of you wearing the pendant in sweet size vs vintage size, I do tend to agree with @BigAkoya that perhaps the vintage size might be better in the long run, because perhaps after wearing the sweet for a while, you may keep thinking about the bigger size. Do you have a preference between the two sizes? I ask because you are in the best position to know instinctively what you would like for your collection as well as what you would likely wear more often. I have the sweet butterfly pendant which I really love wearing daily since it is so small and under the radar (and because of this, more work appropriate for me), but sometimes I do wish it was a little bit bigger! Although on the other hand, I know that because it is smaller, I feel like I can wear it more on more occasions, which might serve your purpose better. Good luck on your decision, both sizes are pretty on you!

Agreed with @NK321! @alohaina, have you tried layering the sweet RG hammered with your other pendants? I'm only asking because while I know it'd look nice & dainty as a standalone piece, you really get to optimize its usage if it also works well with your other VCA pieces. If you opt for VA size, it'll look nice on its own but it doesn't work well layering with the TE imo...Maybe it's just me I don't like two VA pendants together, a sweet + VA is more complementary and I prefer some contrast in the mix. I don't think you can go wrong with either options though.

I think this is a very good point. Just because it’s cute, doesn’t mean that it speaks VCA / justifies the VCA $$. I could get a similar look with a variety of other charms.

I am getting attached though, the more I wear it around the house - it’s so darn cute

This might have to be one of those ‘oh well, it brings me joy’ types of things.

Re: layering with my VA TE
First impression is - I don’t love it / I don’t hate it

To date, I’ve been wearing either my TE VA or my magic carnelian basically every day lol (to me, they are all daily pieces  )

But my soul can’t handle wearing either to the beach / outdoor activities - so aiming for the use case + just a different fun vibe to switch things up.
