Oh.. tough question on this sweater...
I'll have to explain a bit and split hairs. I would say it runs true to size, but it is still loose, yet not slouchy.

However, if your definition of true-to-size is slouchy, then it is not quite that wide.

I wear a size 2 or 4 top (I have broad shoulders), and I purchased an XS. I like how it is not super slouchy, but it is still loose.
I am short, 5' 2", so if you are taller or have long arms, pay attention to the sleeves as they hit right at the wrist bone. At first, it kind of annoyed me, but now, I really like that. I can push up my sleeve or keep it long, and I like the wrist peeking out showing more skin for a spring/summer sweater look.

The shoulder is slightly dropped, so shoulder fit will not be an issue. The deciding factor is more about the width of the sweater.

For reference, I also wear La Ligne sweaters, also in XS, and they are cut super wide (super slouchy) with very long sleeves.
The Emma is not cut that wide at all which is why I like it so much. It's still loose, but still gives a very slimming look.

I would say I look slouchy in a La Ligne sweater and my body shape is a bit lost. I look casual loose in the Emma sweater, and I look slim, even though the sweater is loose.:heart:

Oh... what I love about this sweater is the neckline. The ribbing is flat at the neckline, it's a lower crewneck (vs. a highcut crewneck), so it shows off the neck and collarbone nicely and allows long necklaces to drape over some skin.

Hope that helps.

^ second @BigAkoya love La Ligne. The sweaters run large though but are meant to be slouchy (or I always thought they were). I’m tall, flat and a size 2 or so … and the XS is still slouchy but looks like it’s meant to be styled that way (all of their styles sort of fit me the same). Also they are well priced and their dresses fit beautiful and are amazing, particularly for the price.

Don’t hate me because I haven’t been following this chain carefully so I may be way off on the exact need/subject, but if it is sweaters you’re looking for and do not mind spending cash on some classics, Loro Piano has some beautiful pieces right now. I bought a couple at the store the other day. I was surprised bc sometimes Loro can feel really “old,” but these felt fresh and young - especially tucked into your jeans or bottoms.

^ apologies if I’m way off topic. I just saw La Ligne (love) and sweaters and went down the rabbit hole.

Thank you for this detailed explanation. This helped me out so much. I am also between 2-4 in tops and ordered XS — same as you!

My reasoning being… I’ve got enough oversized sweaters/cardigans where my body shape sort of gets lost and I think this would be an oversized sweater with a slightly different look. I almost got another (that sale is enticing!), but for now… one will do. Oh I can’t wait for it to arrive.

Pave VA (to go with necklace). My SA who is no longer in the boutique in HI that also no longer exists once said they looked too "mature" for me. Hello I'm in my late 50s what does he expect me to wear????

I’ve heard the same, (I’m 55) and what my SA and DH explained was __ would be great for your mom
(Usually chanel jackets in pastels or brights or wg/diamond pave jewelry)

let’s embrace our relative youth lol :D

I’m a D cup, so I do have some girls. I own 2 16-motifs and love them.

Here’s a picture of me with a 20-motif along with some 10s and 5s strung together.

So fabulous on you! I love it long, and it lays beautifully. Love the Pucci leggings too. I need to whip mine out... spring is here (almost).

Thank you for sharing these gorgeous modshots!

Me too! I have so much La Ligne oversized sweaters that my body shape is lost too. This is still loose but a very refreshing look.

I just ordered two more... the striped Navy one and a solid one in the color Iceberg.

By the way, if you have been looking for a white white sweater, this one is it. I bought two of them as pure white sweaters are so hard to find (they are usually ivory/off white).

I am so excited for you and hope you like it!

Too funny, iceberg was the other color I was considering! Can’t wait to hear about the color!

OMG. I cannot thank you enough! I didn't even think of the 2-motif. What you have outlined is fewer items, more impact. Right up my alley :flowers:. I prefer not too many variations of the same thing, and need versatility and low cost/wear. I was worried the VA MOP would get lost in my hair, yet felt I "needed" a pair in MOP. I do have pearl studs, but they are a filler pair while I wait to get nicer ones. That can satisfy my need for a simple non-dangly pearl earring. Then the Pave VA can work with everything else.

I do still want the Pave Frivole earrings. And the 6-motif necklace, will try the 16. And we haven't even gotten to the arms yet (single row Pave bangle, Frivole BTF ring)....But at least I have a vision for the ears.

The problem is everything I want is not available online, so I will have to make the trek to an actual store when I get to NYC hopefully soon.
Reminds me of this photo. The two motif would be gorgeous!!

I keep seeing the 20 on others and loving it, but I don't think it would work for me. Any long non-pendant necklace always either joins at the bottom, nestling in the crevice between my boobs, or hooking over one or the other. So I've never even tried one, just assuming it wouldn't work. Anyone busty care to chime in?

Not sure if this is your style, but loving that she leaned into the ‘V’ look

A bit OT, but LP mens has some nice sweaters that could easily be unisex if you aren’t crazy about the current women’s collection. They are basic enough to nicely showcase a VCA necklace  And, trimmer than la ligne and oddly more modern than recent brunello cuchinelli

Love the two motif. I have the pave diamond yellow and GMOP (I think that’s the combo) and the tigers eye and carnelian … but I can never get the MOP version - are they even available? I think you might be able to order them (I can’t remember) but I feel like they wouldn’t put any time frame on it bc they are so hard to get? It was something weird. Any insight?
I would love to know too! I have been asking for the MOP two motif for a while and, as of a couple of weeks ago, understand that it’s still on a “no order” list. Not sure why because other MOP items are not as hard to get. If anyone has insight, it would be great to understand!

I was told the same about the magic mop studs in January.
