Vca new turquoise butterfly??

I just tried on all four butterfly rings: lapis/diamond, turquoise/diamond, pink sapphire/diamond, yellow sapphire/diamond.
For me, I decided I will not be buying a butterfly set as I felt the butterfly ring was a bit too small on me.

That said, no, both rings are not redundant if you are a butterfly ring lover.
To me, lapis remains the BOMB! I know this is the turquoise thread, but to me, there is no comparison. The lapis is so stunning, and that deep blue makes it a bold statement piece. It definitely pops, unlike the yellow sapphire and pink sapphire which I thought was a bit mellow. The turquoise butterfly is super fun! Think glowy turquoise for the summer. The turquoise pops too, but it's a fun pop.

If you love the butterfly ring, they are definitely not duplicates, and I would get both. The two shades each project a different look. Both are great rings. Good luck on your decision!
I placed an order for the lapis ring (need a MTO size) (yay!) But I also love the turquoise and pink sapphire. Not as much of a yellow sapphire or tsavorite person. I haven’t been able to see the pink in person, it’s never been in stock. I also am not as big of a fan of the lapis or turquoise in earring form, not sure why.
I have tried on turquoise and lapis rings. I think in an ideal world I would do Turquoise, lapis and pink sapphire rings, and pink sapphire/pave earrings. but that is a bit much.
I’m not worried about getting the pink sapphire in the future… I think that should always be there. Turquoise I am not sure. Maybe I will ask to try it again another time to see if I just cannot stop thinking about it. Ive attached these photos before to a different thread, so sorry for redundancy, but I think they both look nice (but lapis moreso!)
I am a little concerned about having turquoise from a durability standpoint too, especially on my hands. My SA said I should wait and get lapis first, then decide on turquoise.

Did you try the earrings? Or are you against earrings if not buying a matching ring?
I put them up against my ears, and I think they look nice. However, you are correct. Without the ring, I don’t want to have butterflies just for earrings.

By the way, I was at Mikimoto too. I tried on the ribbon diamond earrings. Love them. I think they would look fabulous with Neoud as well as own their own. I may get them. They also have a lot of presence.

These were the ones I tried. Very very 3D. Love them.

When I tried the rings on, not all were in my size 52. The SA said all could be ordered in any size which was good to hear. I think lapis is perfect, and unless you are a turquoise lover like some here on TPF with other pieces, I would be sure you love the turquoise and not just the hype or that it is new.
Turquoise is very pretty as a stone. For me though, I don’t think it’s something I would wear often, so really think how you would wear the ring and your look vs. just how pretty it is.

I don’t know what other VCA pieces you have, but since you are buying non-Alhambra pieces, I would suggest looking at the Frivole BTF diamond ring.

You may love butterflies and want to collect butterflies though. It’s definitely a different look and vibe now that I tried it on.

Congrats on the lapis butterfly! That lapis pops so much!

Any pictures of the mikimotos? Thanks for reminder. I must go in and try.

The lapis is stunning. I'm not a girly or bright color person and was a little skeptical about the pink bf earrings, but as someone else commented earlier, the pink is actually very soft and not like a Barbie tone at all, which I had feared. The TQ at least in photos does actually remind me of Malibu barbie (showing my age here I guess!) but I haven't gone to see in person yet. I do keep being drawn to the TQ but just can't get past the YG pave. Has anyone asked their SA about the possibility BigAkoya suggested of getting a pendant and having the BF turned into a single earring?

Did they give you a timeline on the ring, I ask self-interestedly? I have been waiting on a ring order (standard, not MTO) for months and as yet have no timeline for when I might get it.

I didn’t take any photos, but I really think you will like it. The pearl is a bit small at 7.5mm, and I prefer at least 8.5mm. I know, it sounds like I’m splitting hairs, but I am a hair splitter especially when it comes to stones.

The focus is definitely on the ribbons of diamonds, and the pearl is a nice accent. That is the good news for you as you’re not lovey love on pearls as I am. The diamond ribbon is the star on the earrings for sure!
The bow shows like a small rounded, plump little ribbon bow, very nice! It is not a flat or squished bow, which I love. It’s worth checking it out.

I am trying to think how this could fit into my pieces as I really like it. There is a matching ring, but it’s very wimpy by our ring standards.:heart:

I saw these online, would love to see how they look worn.

I assume you mean the Mikimotos as the butterfly earrings have been posted many times.

They fit great, and they are posts (not clips), so there is flexibility to position the earring. I put the pearl as shown in the photo, left ear with left pearl toward ear and right ear with pearl toward ear. The ribbon looks great. On the model, she put the pearl at the bottom which looks odd in the photo. These earrings look ten times nicer and bigger in real life. Also, I just realized I posted the UK link above (I’m hanging out in London this week). Here is the US link:

Thank you. It’s a nice complement to the Noeud.

I know this is off-topic here but one quick comment - one more thing to look out for is how the post joins the back of the basket… Some studs have a pointy joint, others are like VCA’s with a “post stuck into a flat back” situation. I prefer the latter because I worry about the pointy joint sliding into my piercing and stretching the hole out over time! Other people prefer the pointy joint though, having the basket sit deep in the piercing holds the stud up nice and perky. I’m not sure about the Jeux de Rubans earrings but Mikimoto’s Les Petales earrings have this pointy joint style.

Ignore the diff metal colours in the pic!

For what it’s worth, I asked about the Cosmos oynx and diamond BTF ring which is MTO, and they said 6 months. This ring will probably take the full 6 months as it is not part of regular stock anymore.

I would think a butterfly will take less time as there is stock. Plus, VCA is really pushing butterflies now, so I bet they have many of their jewelers focused on and cranking out only butterflies.

VCA did this huge marketing campaign to sell butterflies, and it’s working. Hence, it is in their best interest to make butterfly pieces while the excitement is high and there is all this hype and demand. The campaign surely got my attention as I was never a butterfly person prior.

I ordered a Clover in Jan and received it in Feb. So for sure, I think since you are a regular client, you will get yours sooner. Good luck!

For the women on this forum who own both lapis and turquoise BTF rings, do you feel like they’re somewhat redundant pieces in your wardrobe? For some reason i think this is less of an issue with the earrings…
I think it really depends on your lifestyle and wardrobe. I would like to collect a piece from the butterfly line and a between finger ring from VCA (given its their signature item), however my lifestyle in office and mother of a two year old now just make me think twice where the butterfly ring can come in other than special occasion…..

Gosh, they're both so beautiful but in a different way.
If it's the lapis to which you're immediately drawn, then that's the way to go. Once you get the one, that may be enough. Your SA is a wise woman-or man. Then you can see how you feel.

Haha yes she is awesome!
The lapis really pops to me, and I tend to wear darker colors. I also have the Vendome porcelain pendant and bracelet that would match decently well with it.
The turquoise is also just stunning, i don’t own anything in turquoise, VCA or not. But I think I will wait for now, even though she said it could be up to a year for my ring to be ready!!!

Don't let them rush you if you're not ready. I hate it when SA's try and scare you into buying something. Frankly, that's when I lose it and walk away.
Moreover, a year's wait? That doesn't sound reasonable. The most I've heard is six months for a special order.
