I think it’s inevitable that two sets are needed. The hard part is not to duplicate stones across metals. I failed that lesson with the onyx

I love the onyx! But i feel like at the moment, i prefer it with WG, the constrast is spot on!

I m always so tempted by rose gold, but am trying to resist because i like to pair up across different brands and i am now finding that the tone of WG and RG vary quite a bit across brands. Yg seem to have less of an issue, somehow or i may be imagining it.

Another thing is, i like my chanel Cc studs and they dont come in RG. -.- so if i have a RG FJ collection, i would have a gap in the earrings dept

I prefer the onyx rg as it softens the dark stone imo. I find that VCA rg is so subtle and it blends well with Cartier rg. Now earrings I never worry about as I primarily wear diamond studs. WG martinis are my favorites so all see is pop from the stones. I’m not familiar with Chanel’s fine jewelry but the costume line has weird yg coloring to me.

Ooh yes i have martini WG studs for the same reason too! But, i got bored of it after 1 year and am going back to CC studs.. it is true that the Chanel costume studs have varying shades of YG, i went for a champagne gold one, as well as a pearly studded aged gold one recently, both are daintier and smaller pieces. I find that they still matches my VCA YG and my other 18k gold pieces. The aged gold one is mostly covered by pearly studs, so thats why it still generally matches the FJ YG pieces.

I do enjoy admiring the RG onyx pieces! Too bad i dont have access to SO here!

The VCA rg stone pieces really match well with yg and as it’s very subtle. The all rg pieces look very coopery and I don’t like that. I will check out the cc studies next time I’m in boutique.
