anyone planning on visiting japan should check out vca there...i compared prices of a few countries (US, France, HK, TW) and Japan was by far the lowest...think maybe they haven't increased prices when everyone else did and the low yen.
That was exactly my plan! Will be heading to Japan next month and planned to visit VCA. Will depend on how stock is though..

Any ideas if Japan is looking to increase prices soon? My trip isn’t until June and I’m worried prices will go up by then . Also, any intel on what stock levels are like there? I’ve been eyeing the VA 10 motif blue agate

i think when i shopped there last weekend, the sa said their increase is likely in May or June, don't remember which. Their stock look good but i have to say the item i was looking for wasn't available so the sa was kind enough to help me get it from their logistics center since all boutiques in greater tokyo was out of stock in my size and this is after searching high and low by going to almost all the boutiques in tokyo. Since they don't speak english well, they weren't very willing to help me locate which boutique had it until i walked into Ginza Six boutique. PM me if you would like my sa, she was very helpful.

I'm traveling to Seoul, South Korea in a few months and wanted to pick up some VCA. Was there a price increase there recently and is it worth it to buy from there vs. in the US?
I went to Seoul in late October and they had a price increase right before I went. I don’t think they’ve have an increase since then. What I bought, the sweet alhambra bracelet in carnelian, the savings was about $150 at the time. I guess it depends on the item, and what you feel is “worth it” but for small items like this, now thinking about it, I don’t feel it’s worth it to buy there vs the US. If it was a bigger item, I might feel differently.

Before I went, I also created a spreadsheet comparing the prices (US+tax) vs (KRW w/ VAT refund). You can check out the Korean prices on the site in English and all prices include tax already. The VAT refund rate is about 7.27%

Hope this helps!

Oh wow. Only 7.27%? I thought it was 10%. Did you get 7.27% back?

SG doesnt seem to have any price increase this round except when our tax went up to 8% from 7% on 1st jan hence they made adjustment.
do you think Singapore is the most expensive?

I've been comparing hong kong and seoul prices and SGD is always the most expensive even with the tax included in USD prices.. I guess given that HK doesn't charge tax it'd be the best place to buy it.

If you are a tourist then you can get the 8% tax rebate in Singapore so you probably have to factor this in. Take for example the price of the 5-motif vintage alhambra guilloche yellow gold is HKD$44k but SGD$7544 after gst rebate hence it is actually around the same?
