I’m sorry to hear about your cat, sending you a virtual hug. Thanks for even remembering to come back and share. My oh my! when you said you had a collection...didn’t expect this much amazing-ness! I literally just moved out of my one and only Van Astyn this past week after carrying it for two months straight. The Barenia leather is so freaking carefree..rain showers and all! It just got better and better..the patina grew even more golden. I definitely will be adding another piece in the future when I come across the perfect one, seem very limited in the preloved market..probably because the owners love it too much to part with even though it’s not a popular brand. Thank you so much again and my condolences.I am sorry it took me so long to come back here. We lost our beloved cat the same day I was posting about Van Astyn and bags were no longer on my mind.
so here it comes: family picture
Thank you so much for sharing this, was able to snag this Eley for a steal. I really wanted this bag after I found an older thread by another member revealing hers awhile ago. Then when your shared your collection I saw it was part of yours as well it popped up on my wishlist again. Thank you!! Will make sure to post pics when I receive it.For anyone interested in Van Astyn bags. There is one recently listed on eBay which I believe is made in barenia leather. View attachment 5224677

I am glad I could help.Lucky you! I was drooling over that bag in @bibivi1’s previous post and immediately went to eBay! Glad it went to a fellow tPFer. Now to create an alert!
btw, @bibivi1, how to do find the barenia for scratches and stains? My ultimate would be a Peter Nitz Dreamer 20 in barenia with contrasting thread. Fingers crossed…one day
They definitely did succeed. It was Peter Nitz (but his diffusion line / corporate gift line which was a factory made line of bags following his own pattern). He has since folded the brand into his other namesake one (Peter Nitz) instead of operating two separate brands.More little details. I am honestly surprised that they didn’t succeed. The craftsmanship is better than on my Hermes or Chanel bags!
