Valextra

A bag organizer might distribute weight more evenly, but the bag still might sag if you regularly carry heavier objects such as water bottle, book, folding umbrella, etc. To give you an idea, today in my MM Iside I’m carrying a phone, key case, small wallet that includes a coin purse, lipstick, comb, small hand cream, tissue pack, eyeglasses in hard case, and various bits such as mints, hand sanitizer, a fan, a folding reusable bag, and a pen case, with no sag at all, and room to spare for a shawl. Good luck!

I don't plan to put anything heavy in there unless it's the occasional pocket umbrella.

I think I might park this for the time being as I'm not in a rush and want to be 100% sure when the time comes. I also want to take a break from having a wishlist as I recently ticked quite a few items off my list during Christmas/birthday (early Jan) and don't have anything on my list at the moment.

I'll definitely keep this in mind later in the year.

I did an overhaul on my bag collection a few weeks ago, and decided to sell my Gucci Soho Disco and more recently, my Givenchy Mini Antigona. However, despite saying no more bags and promising myself a low-buy year for 2020, I'm now considering the Iside in Medium. My struggle is justifying the price on a brand that is more obscure.

I'm comparing the standard black:

To this limited edition version:

Can you ladies tell me of your experience with Valextra and which above-mentioned version you prefer? Thanks!
As you can see from my posts here that I’m clearly a valextra fan. Valextra is pretty popular in Asia but not in US for some reason. It’s a hardy bag. I even worn it in a rainstorm & it was fine. Just needed some wiping later. Medium is perfect every day size that fits tons but wouln’t over stuff it because of the pulling issue on the side like the other said. Also it wouldn’t be comfortable with heavy weight since iside strap is pretty narrow.

Dimensions of the Iside MM are 26x20x12. It is just 1 cm wider than the Kelly 25, but because of its triangular or pyramid shape, is wider at the bottom, and therefore fits more than the Kelly. It has only 1 slip pocket on the inside back wall. The fastening on the Valextra is MUCH less fiddly than the Kelly. Also the adjustable strap makes it easy to wear cross-body, and the attachments for the strap are more subtle and architectural than the d-rings on the Kelly.
Good luck choosing!

Thanks for your reply! That was very helpful.

My two favorite bags! Valextra “Iside” Medium and Delvaux “Brillant” PM. I find these bag’s size perfect! They fit a lot but are not heavy.

I’m thinking about adding an Hermes Kelly in size 25 or 28. I don’t want a mini bag or a very large heavy bag. I had a Kelly 32 and I found it too large/bulky and too heavy.

IMO it is difficult to get into a Kelly 25 because of the configuration of the bag, and it might not hold all you need. The feel of the 25 is more like a mini bag. My advice is to try both the 25 and 28, if you want a Kelly, to see which one suits your needs.
Good luck in your decision!

You are so right, I’m afraid the Kelly 25 will be too small, maybe the 28 will be better. I probably just need to try both.

Both are beautiful bags, great pic!

Is someone who can only afford preloved valextra welcome to play here? I didn't see much mention of second hand purchasing here but I don't mind if I'm the only one who can't afford new if you guys don't mind 'my kind' around here. I'm in it for the bag porn and cameraderie!
I do hope you're welcome since I'm in the "can currently afford photo's of bags"- boat. You mentioning camaraderie is really so cute. This forum always feels like I've stumbled upon a weird little corner of the world, a corner where people actually understand me. And your January future looks gorgeous. If the leather looks like that on a picture, please let me know how dreamy it actually feels.
