USA and UK LV Prices

I am normally a Mulberry girl but am thinking of adding a little LV Speedy to my collection!
I am going to New York this Summer but not via Heathrow Terminal 5 which I understand is the only LV duty free shop(sadly going from Terminal 3)
So as I can't save money there would it be any cheaper to buy a speedy in NYC rather than London? Speedy 30 is currently £450 in the Uk.

It's cheaper in the U.K., especially when you add customs on top of it

(and your customs people are pretty keen on catching people smuggling undeclared items).

its still cheaper to buy in uk.. i did a similiar thing a few years back with a multicolore Rita .. ended up £200 more expensive buying from nyc than uk . i had to pay import duty on top of nyc sales tax.. if i remember rightly at the time the bag was around $2400 inc tax... then when i got to uk .. i got stung for £170 import duty and handling fee on top x. they saw me coming because it was still bagged and boxed.. ive since learned if i buy a bag abroad .. i use the bag to come home and ship thbox wrapping back to myslf via
the postal system!
