I just got home from taking advantage of the Tiffany one time upgrade offer and am so excited! I started out with a beautiful 1.33ct H VS1 classic tiffany solitaire and upgraded to this beauty. She's a 2.44ct E VS1 and I think I'm in love!! Photos are from my iPhone and obviously don't do it justice. In real life it looks like a ball of wet sparkling ice! Thanks for letting me share my excitement. =)

GORGEOUS!!!

I have the same ring, but it's a 1.76 ct...and I would also like to have an upgrade later on.
How does it work? I never really looked into it...

Babilu, I noticed you always magically appear whenever a gorgeous rock is debuted! ;)

And hush about any upgrade!!! Your ROCK is gorgeous!

haha..YES!! I don't say much, but I always try to stop by and see what's going on! :D
Was very busy in the past couple months finalizing wedding details, but now that the wedding is done I have lots of free time to visit the forum more often! hehe

I wouldn't get the upgrade any time soon...I think the size I have is perfect and very appropriate for my age. But maybe later on...never know. I am just not sure if I'd like to part with my original engagement ring though...

OMG you already have a ring most women would DREAM of - don't upgrade that beauty!!! Get something else one day - it's gorgeous!

By popular demand, here are some hand shots. The ring is size 6 which is nice because it means I don't have to wait to have it resized but I'd prefer smaller fingers to make the stone look even bigger. :D

Babilu - The upgrade was extremely easy. We went in on Sunday and looked at what they had in stock and decided on color and size range and then went through the computer to find the perfect ring. They ended up bringing two into town (Boston) for me, a 2.32 ct from Beverly Hills and the 2.44 ct from Honolulu. I had to leave my original ring with them so that their in-house appraiser could look it over on her normal shift on Monday (some places make them send it to NYC for appraisal which takes longer so I'm glad I could avoid it). By Wednesday morning the rings were at the store so we went in and I, of course, ended up picking the bigger one. They give you a credit of the appraised value of original diamond, minus the cost of the platinum band. This was a loss of less than $500 (~3% of the original price) for me. There were no other fees. I've heard sometimes they might charge a restocking/resetting fee as well but the upgrade was over 5x the original purchase so we didn't have to pay any of that. We paid, they gave us champagne and did a final check of the diamond and ring. When checking it, the SA found a nick in the plat band so she is insisting that we send it in to get reset in a new band while we're on vacation next month. I'm torn on the resetting because a) I kind of like the imperfection (in a band, would hate it in a stone!) because it makes it 'mine' and b) I don't want to be without it. =)

Thanks all for the sweet comments. You guys are so nice!

WOWZA! Lovely!!! I know what you mean...smaller fingers would be rad.

I would like to know what kind of nick we're talking about. Is it not something they can polish out??
