Not crazy about the CA in the first one, and would really prefer a different PA in the second with that CA. Let me PM you a few others, well...when they get more in stock. I am not a fan of posting links to actual stones out in the open because of poaching. People will do that, and it is OBNOXIOUS.

And I better clarify this before it gets you worked up--they are NOT badly cut. They would be very nice studs. If you are wanting 100% perfect numbers on paper, there are better numbers though. If you are happy with these, by all means, pull the trigger.

Yep, poaching is a problem, last pair I posted was gone within a day. And blue niles inventory is extremely low right now, not finding much within my criteria. What do you think about the price on this pair? Ideally I want to keep it under $8000, unless I find something spectacular for under $10k.

I am only seeing one of the links. This one: LD06128170 , It would be safer with 40.9 for the pavilion angle, but it may be fine.

Since Ame looked, I won't duplicate the search. I was just wondering what the other stone looked like. I agree with her that they will get more stones in and you can get a great pair!

Oh, and you asked for a picture. I don't have a good one, but here is one with a 1.15 on.

Looks stunning on you [emoji4]
The other diamond is the same link, on a different tab. LD04655369

Ah, I see! Yes, I agree with Ame that the one that ends in 69 has angles that might result in leakage.

Stick with crown angles between 34-35.0 and pavilion angles 40.6-40.9 (although 41.0 can be okay with crown angles closer to 34).

Yes, BN is one of the only places to get a GIA XXX 1 ct I SI1 for just under $5k. The downside is that they don't have pictures or light return images, but that is why we are pretty strict on the numbers so that you have a high likelihood of getting great stones! Once you reserve stones, though, you'll need to have them verify that both stones are eyeclean before they actually send them to you.

Yes, I feel like that I should wait for more stock to come in, selection is too limited right now. Is it pretty hard to find 2+ ctw eye clean excellent cut diamond studs for under 10k?

I would say that you should be able to, be willing to consider going a hair over. But I think when the selection increases after the Chrismas and NYE proposals there will be more to choose from. Being up against VDay does mean you have to move quicker. PM me or email me any pairs you find though so they don't get poached.

Well, James Allen has some in that price range, but you are wanting to trade in with BN, right?

And thanks! I have really enjoyed my new studs and I really think that is as big as I'd personally want to go.

And clarify with them your definition of eye-clean, as that will vary from place to place and person to person.

I checked all our usual suspects, and JA has tons, but she does want to stick with BN for the trade in.

Hi Ame,

Here's their definition of eye clean:
"jewelers term of 'eye clean' means from 6 to 8 inches away, looking directly down at the diamond from the top view only, with a quick glance the average person is not able to notice any inclusions right away with the unaided eye (meaning no jewelers loop). It does not mean you will never see the inclusions if you look closer or examine the diamond for a longer period of time."

Yeah unfortunately I want to trade in my current pair from blue Nile, I didn't really know much about diamonds when I purchased those.

Ok so that's a pretty average definition. What is YOUR definition and did you clarify that with them? Just so you know--when it comes down to describing eye clean for stones I am buying for myself: MY definition is if I can see it without a loupe, period, at all, it's not eye clean. Doesn't matter the distance, lighting, angle, whatever, if it's visible at all without a loupe, then it's not eye clean. And I tell every vendor I work with that.

Yeah, I agree with you, my definition of eye clean is same as yours. Does that mean I would have to get VS2?
