Upgrade diamonds studs or buy Tiffany Victoria?

Thank you:D! Agree on the stock levels for diamonds. Actually found a pair I was interested in and became unavailable the next day:shrugs: I should probably wait till after peak season to make the purchase, but will keep an eye out for great ones that come by.:graucho:

Yea, you're dealing with peak holiday purchases. You can still snag them up to Valentines, you will just have to act quickly.

Assuming you're buying them from a reseller that is well known to sell authentic merchandise, one that provides the original paperwork, boxes and if possible original sales receipt, that will cut down on the issues with authenticity questions. But familiarize yourself with a loupe, and then you can inspect the item, check for damage, and confirm in front of the reseller that there is no damage (assuming you're buying in person, vs online.) Online sellers you must have a return policy, no question.

I see, thanks Ame. I have seen them on e bay for great prices, but just felt unsafe to purchase diamond items there. And not being a diamond expert makes it even riskier. Would love to get them brand new from Tiffany's but they don't seem to hold their value well:shucks:

I am not an Ebayer. I trust no one on there. I know Oakgem is a seller that is authentic, but they're the only one I know for sure is legit.

Hi Ame, do you think there's a huge difference in getting 1.8 ctw and 2.0 ctw? Would 2.0 ctw hold its value better than 1.8 ctw?
Pricewise there is a huge difference in the carat weight differential. A .9 is going to cost you less than 1.0 while looking nearly identical because in diameter, they're very VERY close in size. But costwise: that whole carat comes at a premium at retail. But on resale, it isn't going to fetch you much, if anything, more. You get more out of trading in than you ever will selling them outright.

(Hi. Ame!::wave: )

I just thought I'd stop in because I recently upgraded my studs to 1.15 cts each, and I had some size comparision pics that might help you.

I would go to a carat if your budget allows, because I think that will be more proportional with your large and beautiful e-ring diamond!

In this pic, the first pair is .93, then 1.2, then 1.15. I bought the last pair as they were a color grade higher than the middle pair but looked almost the same size. As you can see, the .93s were much smaller visually than the others.

Thank you for the comparison photo, it is very helpful :) do you have photos of them on too?

Hi found a pair of 1.06 ct each for just under $10k. That do you think? The blue Nile diamond support told me that these are eye clean at SI1 :)

Hi Ame, happy new year! I found this pair on blue Nile and they just confirmed that they are eye clean.

What do you think about the proportions?

Not crazy about the CA in the first one, and would really prefer a different PA in the second with that CA. Let me PM you a few others, well...when they get more in stock. I am not a fan of posting links to actual stones out in the open because of poaching. People will do that, and it is OBNOXIOUS.

And I better clarify this before it gets you worked up--they are NOT badly cut. They would be very nice studs. If you are wanting 100% perfect numbers on paper, there are better numbers though. If you are happy with these, by all means, pull the trigger.
