*cheers!* I have been awaiting the big news! Congratulations!

Ok earrings... You're trading the current ones in then right or are you buying new ones outright? Bec if you're just buying new ones outright and not trading in then we can look anywhere, otherwise let's look at your options and what you're wanting to prioritize.

I agree with the prior suggestion to buy Tiffany secondhand.

Thank you:smile1: I love the ring Kai picked out :D

For earrings, I'd like to trade in and upgrade through blue nile if possible.

Congratulations and be sure to post a pic of your e-ring!
While I have never bought from Blue Nile I like the idea of upgrading and doubling the carat size makes it worth it.
IMHO...2 tcw (or slightly under) is the perfect size mounted in a 3 prong martini setting.
Keep us posted..............

I am extremely pleased to hear that :) He did a great job. If you're willing, I think a thread about your proposal and pics of the ring would definitely be well received!

Ok, besides size and cut, what color and clarity requirements are you after? And what kind of timeline are you thinking?

Hi lovely tpfers:smile1:

I own a pair of 1 ctw round diamond studs, and would like to either upgrade to 1.8-2.0 ctw or keep the current 1 ctw diamond studs and purchase a pair of Tiffany Victoria earrings in size small. The cost to upgrade and to purchase the Victoria earrings would be about the same.

Here's a link to the Victoria earrings:

I would like to wear them on my wedding day, as well as on daily basis in the future! What do you all think?

TIA:flowers: Merry Christmas to all :)

I'm literally debating an almost identical situation! Wanting to upgrade my 1.23 tcw to 1.84 tcw...OR get the medium Victoria earrings in rose gold. So hard to choose! I tried the T&Co earrings on on Christmas Eve and they were stunning!!

Thank you:smile1: I will post a picture of my e-ring soon, it still need to be resized:p

Yep, I love the 3 prong martini setting, which I currently have for my studs. But I'm not enjoying the screw back it has right now, because i like to take them off everyday. Would opt for another option if I do upgrade.

I wanted 2 ctw too, but it seems like 1.8 ctw is a lot more affordable, hope fully they look about the same:graucho:

Thank you Ame, I will post a photo of the engagement ring soon! Wouldn't have done it without your help!:smile1: I'm sure he has told you all the details:graucho:

For earrings, I'm looking at I or H color and VS/SI1 eye clean clarity. Timeline wise I'm not in a hurry, give it about half a year. But will buy if I find the perfect pair:smile1:

It was my pleasure :) So, I have heard "his side." I wanna hear YOUR side ;)

Ok H/I VSish is doable. We can do this just fine. I would say sooner rather than later. Stock is gonna be a PITA the closer to valentines we get, not to mention many "market corrections" come around late feb early march.

You are getting great advice on this thread. What a tough choice. I like the upgrade idea but I think Tiffany Victoria earrings are SO gorgeous and would be perfect on your wedding day and beyond!

I agree 100% with Ame re stock and pricing. I was watching a ring at Blue Nile for several months and then the price went up by at least $100 right before Valentine's. Interestingly, the price went down about $150 this past August!

Can't wait to hear what you decide! And CONGRATULATIONS!

Lol, tough choice right? Hopefully we can make up our minds with help of fellow tpfers here! Do let me know if you have decided;)

Hi Ame, I could wait till after the valentine's day if needed. Because i heard right now all the way till Valentine's day is peak season for diamonds. The diamond prices are dropping in general? Not sure if retailers are going to reflect that:graucho:

Prices go down if demand starts to soften. What is "softening" is the smaller stone sizes (closer to half carat) and well above 2.5ct from what I've read and seen on pricing. There was a time and it may happen again, where what you were interested in was softening, but I think it has corrected and demand has piqued again.

If you wait til after Valentines, you might want to hold off til March just for supplies to start to replenish.

Thank you:D! Agree on the stock levels for diamonds. Actually found a pair I was interested in and became unavailable the next day:shrugs: I should probably wait till after peak season to make the purchase, but will keep an eye out for great ones that come by.:graucho:

If I buy Tiffany victoria secondhand, how would I determine if the diamonds are original with no damage?

Assuming you're buying them from a reseller that is well known to sell authentic merchandise, one that provides the original paperwork, boxes and if possible original sales receipt, that will cut down on the issues with authenticity questions. But familiarize yourself with a loupe, and then you can inspect the item, check for damage, and confirm in front of the reseller that there is no damage (assuming you're buying in person, vs online.) Online sellers you must have a return policy, no question.
