Update on Pochette Accessoires

I had a dream about this last night. I think I read this forum too much [emoji23]. It was about half the size of the bb nice vanity case. It had a top handle (like a vanity case) made out of canvas (my dream was about the DA). It had a small size cheap nylon zipper (around like a train case) with a small zipper pull. Get this...attached to the bottom of the zipper was a small skirted ruffle which followed the zipper around. It was about 3 inch in width/depth . Even the SA turned her nose up to it. It was over $1k & it was the ugliest thing you ever saw. In my dream I didn't buy it. [emoji38] You're all lucky I don't design for LV [emoji846][emoji854]

I hope this isn't true. It was redesigned not too long ago, if I recall. It is a classic and a great piece. I've used it in my bag as a makeup pouch. I have DE and it is so low maintenance. I've turned it inside out and washed it in warm water to get out stains. I got it pre-loved about 4 years ago, used it almost daily and it looks brand new. A chain strap dresses it up and a brown strap makes it a crossbody. I don't think I like the new direction that L.V. seems to be going. What is wrong with entry level?

I agree, it was just redesigned a few years ago with a longer strap so I am surprised it is being changed again. It is my favourite bag and I use it all the time - I don't care if it is considered "entry level." I wish they would keep it!

So the Pochette Felicie and Pallas Clutch will get a redesign as well? Do you happen to know starting when and how?
No, those were suggested as alternatives to the PA.
I hope it is not redesigned, just to make it more expensive.
I agree, it seems like such a staple for many people, I think making it any bigger or adding a strap would be a bad move based on how many people use it.

I agree, I don't think it's a good move since it's a go-to for many people but only time will tell. If anything I was hoping to see it in Empreinte someday or perhaps the reverse Mono.

Thank you for clarifying this misunderstanding. I quiet like the current design of both of them.

If the PA does come back redesigned, I hope it doesn't come back with a permanent chain attached. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of the chain detail. However, I'm on my second Eva clutch because I initially used it as a small bag inside a bag for work and travel (without being very careful with it) and it looked tarnished, scratched, and worn very soon with all the hardware. Lesson learned. I've since bought a second Eva clutch and now use it as a dedicated bag or clutch, and the PA as a small bag within a larger bag to pull out for lunch or errands after work. It might be overkill to own both, but it has helped save the wear on the Eva chain that is not removable. I can always add a chain to the PA for a clutch or crossbody strap, but using third party chains with clips on both ends so that the chain is completely removable is so much better while being stored in a larger tote.

It's such a pity that LV is discontinuing a lot of their classic and well-loved designs. I understand it from the business aspect, and quite frankly it's a solid move to boost profits and exclusivity, but a lot of purse collectors/lovers buy these pieces to serve a purpose, whether it's as a catchall in a larger bag or because it makes for a great little wristlet/shoulder bag.

I completely agree that the PA is a functional piece in terms of its versatility as you mentioned. This is one of the reasons I like it so much--a catch all that can quickly convert into a crossbody bag in a flash like like Clark Kent steeping into a phone booth and becoming Superman.

Only time will tell if this is a smart business decision. I know there are young ladies on this forum who have a massive high-end designer handbag collection, but for most people that is not the norm. I'm thinking of high school and college students who have limited funds to get their first designer piece, and the PA might fill that need. Then because they've had a great experience with the brand in terms of wear and tear and quality, they return later to buy more expensive bags from LV when they are out of school and have a higher income.

I would have never bought a $1500-2,000 bag from the start if I haven't baby stepped my way into luxury by buying smaller purchases from LV first that I found worked really well for my lifestyle and are still in great shape after several years use.

Finally, I don't think the PA is just for young ladies, or has to be a starter piece. I'm an old lady with a decent sized collection and still love using this item.

Still seems like half of SAs and online reps say yes or I don't know and other half says no on this being discontinued. It's a shame there's such inconsistency and misinformation either way. I had hoped to find my last two in Paris next month, but then decided to make sure I could get them by just calling CS and tracking them down now. Luckily I could get both from a store sent to me due to a purchase history that meets their rules (yes, you have to be "eligible" for a charge send).

I feel like they're playing catch up after the strike and holidays so may not be discontinued. I've been waiting to get a cles in DA for as long and was told that's sold out in US, but I purchased PA in DE and DA this week without issue.

I sense that my beloved LV is going towards a direction that I really can't agree with. It seems to me that ever since the new director kicked in, LV has become less and less attractive to me. It is really, really sad because I love their classics. But the 'naughty' seasonal/limited items, new bags that are more gimmick than functional, and elimination of classics are really turning me off........

On the particular issue of pochette accessories, I have started exploring other options because I don't want to deepen my already developed reliance on using PA in case they discontinue this style completely. I have started trying to use other styles, for example favorites, to replace the role that my PA usually plays in my bag - a little purse in a big tote for the moments that I only need essentials (sunglasses, wallet, phone, lip stick, gum).

I have been carrying favorite mm in my neverfull for the past week. So far so good. I am still getting use to the flap versus zipper whenever I want to get things, and the bigger size, but it seems to be working. I attach a long chain on favorite instead of using the leather strap it comes with. I will use it for another week to see if my preference changes.

PA is my most used LV item, bar none. I will be really sad if they really retire such a classic.

It says "Call for availability" for all the PA (DE, DA, Mono) on the german website  So sad, I wanted this cutie so much. Maybe I can get one pre-loved someday.
It says the same on the UK's website. I am glad that I rushed to the shop this month to get it in Mono. I also have it in Vernis and, although I would like to see the redesign, I just love the simplicity of this particular model. I am sure though that you will find one preloved.
