Under-sole padding Q ~

I purchased a pair of Halte 120's and they're too big, about a thumb's width. My size isn't available at any boutique so the sales associate recommended they put in under-sole padding.

Anyone have luck with this technique?

My Pigalle platos were like a full size too big.

Thank you for the recommendations! It gives me hope that the padding will help.
