UK Price Rise Monday?

Last week I ordered the Artsy and Sarah in Marine Rouge - they are due to arrive Monday! It'll be interesting to see if they increase in price tomorrow as they were both increased in August.

Now that I rushed and quickly chose something to buy I strangely kind of hope they are increasing the price and that I didn't do it for nothing lol Another increase so soon is a little odd but it's been an odd year what with Brexit. People have they've been told by SAs it's happening Monday so I reckon it probably is. It's not like LV are worried about getting a reputation for being very expensive, it's like one of their main features.

It's all very well them increasing the prices because of the low value of the £ but what about the people that actually live here? It's not as though Brexit has given anyone major pay rises!!

I bought my pieces because I wanted them. I hadn't actually heard any rumours of a price increase but think a second increase in as many months is pretty poor form.

The key pouch I was after is now call for availability, looks like I'll be waiting any way

I had that with the Marine Rouge Artsy. I had checked a few times during the day and it randomly came back into stock about 21:30 so I grabbed it. It had been "call for availability" for about a week before that.

It's happened :( The new prices aren't showing up on everything when you view an item on the website, but when you add an item to the basket it changes to the new higher price. So I guess they're still updating the website.
Anyway hope some uk ladies who saw this thread managed to get some pre-rise purchases in in time! x

Have you been to an LV store this last week? They were packed full of people (Chinese, Thai, U.S., Japanese etc) because of how cheap things are in the UK because of the falling pound. This is not a good thing for global brands like LV, H and Chanel it makes the stores look like they are on sale and creates an unnatural increase in business which is actually a bad thing for them. This is the reason prices will go up because otherwise you have a large market like the UK which will just become a magnet for resellers and bargain hunters. Yes 20% price increase is bad for the UK people but we voted for this so we must accept our currency is now very low and as a result prices of imported goods will continue to rise. The reality is that our pound will now go a lot less further than before the vote.

I can assure you that LV will not be happy to increase prices in the UK because their local English clients are the ones that will suffer, but it is better to lose some customers here rather than have a market (UK) selling items at a very low price compared to the rest of the world. This is one of the points the Leave campaign failed to deliver. Prices will rise but our salaries will not rise with them. God help us Brits it is only going to get worse!

Might I add as well that the bigger picture here will be increases in food and other things. Those with regular careers and families to look after are going to be a lot poorer in the coming years unless a miracle happens with the pound. We can whinge and moan about our LV or Chanel increasing imagine how people are going to reacte once food and fuel increase. Pray the government finds a way to overturn this madness and puts an end to the coming financial chaos for us British people.

Not to sound rude or insult you but I very much doubt LV care at all whether or not you have had a pay rise inline with their price rises because their true target customers are people who don't care and wouldn't bat an eyelid at a 20% increase. The fact is that the remain campaign was very clear that prices will increase but people didn't listed and just called it fear mongering, look at where we are now.

I do think that's part of it, if they are selling a lot then clearly too many people can afford LV and it's not exclusive enough. After having my son I'm now studying a degree as a mature student, and my husband decided to do a masters, and has now just started doing his PhD. As students, without any rich parents, I don't think we're exactly LVs target clientele! Lol

Well yes. But I was replying to the post I quoted and the fact that LV won't care if your pay hasn't increased or not because their TRUE target market won't really care about price increases.
