I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, so Mods feel free to move to somewhere suitable if its not, but I have to get something off my chest. I've been watching videos recently on Instagram by a reseller store based in Dubai and London called "Love Luxury". And you sometimes see people going in apparently having literally just bought a Birkin from Hermes, but they don't like it for some reason or other. they then sell it to this store who then resell it for at least double if not more than what you'd pay in the H store! Now, that's not my only problem with this place. I think it's the fact that they have so many and I mean so many Birkins and Kellys for sale it just makes me feel cheated in some way. Sometimes they show a customer coming in to buy a B or K in a particular colour and the SA gets out all these B's and K's in different sizes, and places them on the counter for the customer to look at. And I find it really weird to see all these "unavailable" bags just laid out on the counter to be perused! I also wonder if Hermes was able to do this would we still feel the "need" to be able to purchase one.
I think what I want to say is, if you don't want the bag, don't buy it in the first place and then maybe just maybe someone might be able to get one form the boutique that actually wants one. There are obviously people out there that somehow get to buy the bag knowing they don't really want it and will resell it. Why can't the people that really want the bags buy them?

I'm not opposed to the resellers that sell preloved and older Hermes at a reasonable price (thats different), I have my eye on a very (in this day and age) reasonably priced preloved Birkin myself.

Anyway, got that off my chest. thanks for reading (if you have).

I wouldn't pay too much attention to Love Luxury's videos. Those videos aren't real... they're all filmed ads for entertainment. (How many jilted wives/ graduating spoiled rich kids/ angry debt collectors who get bags for repayment can there be in London/Dubai each day?) If you google, you can actually find casting calls for actors. I found the videos funny at first, but now it's getting a bit cringey and repetitive.

They still have a lot of B and K's though... And yes i know what you mean, I never watch them all the way through.

I have shorts from Love Luxury appear regularly in my YouTube app
and naively had more or less taken them at face value,
appreciating their advertising value,
but not recognising them as the
'filmed ads for entertainment' they obviously are!

nonetheless the selection of available merchandise
cannot be denied
that they have such a range of unused bags
is evidence of something unfair going on
when the manufacturers own outlets cannot provide its
genuine customers such choice

The thing is : People who does that dont buy because they want a bag and change their mind, they only buy for the sake of making money on top of it :)

When you know you can easily make 6-8K out a of bag by just stepping out of the store, it's tempting for many.

I dont like this behavior as well. It prevents people that really want a bag to get one but unfortunately this is the drawback of Hermes "exclusivity" policy. If we could buy what we want in store, those bags would not be "investment" at all and just bags (What IMO it should be).

Has anyone bought from Instagram seller @wearevintage853

I’ve seen a couple of posts mentioning them but I think it was before their old account got restricted (previously @wearevintage852_)

Disappointing experience purchasing online from TheRealReal.com It's the first time I've purchased from them: a "grail" (for me) CSGM that was listed as in "excellent" condition and priced accordingly. "Excellent" according to the RealReal's website means no signs of wear at all, just doesn't come with a box or the inventory tag. The shawl's actual condition, on arrival, was really disappointing. It has at least 8 thread pulls in it, the care tag is coming off, and it smells to high heaven like someone stored it in incense (yuck--why do people do that?). It's frustrating and irritating--the shawl is the "grail" for me and I'd only once before seen it up for resale, years earlier on e-bay for an over-the-top price, but the condition is less than desirable and I'm really annoyed with TheRealReal for listing this as "excellent" when at best it was/is in "good" condition (as in, mostly intact, not discolored). It seems I can return it, so I might do that. But I'm also concerned they'll accuse me of somehow ruining the shawl in the two days since it was delivered to me, rather than accepting that they misrepresented its condition on the website. And I've noticed their photos are not sharp enough to see the detail of thread pulls (and even the care tag partly coming off) and of course the photos aren't going to tell you that the scarf gives off a strong incense smell. I guess I'm just venting, but also sharing my experience of purchasing a shawl from TheRealReal.com in "excellent" condition that is actually far from that.
