Hi all I would like to purchase from a reseller in Indonesia. She wants me to pay in full before I receive the bag. Is that a normal procedure? Thanks in advance for advice.
I think you will find in all shops you will need to pay in full before they give you the item. Few shops will send an item upon no or partial payment.

Everyone wants to be paid first. But use a credit card like Amex so you are protected.

I am having a horrible time with Collector Square. Their website has driven me insane. They have my money and are still refusing to ship because there was no shipping option on the check out page, I could not even deselect the option to pick-up in person in Paris. I called them immediately after and was assured they would ship. That was weeks ago. I've contacted them multiple times and they are still playing games. It's been 3 weeks of trying, Monday they will have their last chance. No bag is worth this stress.

How utterly dreadful, I’m sorry.

I hope you get some common sense out of them on Monday. COVID (or whatever other paltry excuse) does not justify such levels of ineptitude.

I really don't like them, bought a bag from them and the same experience you describe, I ended up cancelling as their communication is "lacking" to say the least, if it takes them 6 weeks to ship (would possibly have taken another few weeks the way they were "rushing" it) and after another 4 weeks did a charge back as they didn't refund and just totally ignored me. I believe they also take a crazy commission.
 
Why is Collector Square not shipping atm. Is it because of covid?

I want to buy someone a little gift but I'm certainly not travelling to Paris to pick it up.

They don't communicate, I would give them a deadline, which they will ignore, then give them another deadline for repayment and since they will ignore that too, do the charge back....

Doubt it has to do with Covid, I had a similar experience with them pre Covid, they don't seem to do "communications"

Oh absolutely, I have no doubt! Covid has just become the default lazy excuse this year for sheer ineptitude and it riles me no end... I've had equally painful experiences with so called 'luxury' companies this years and it's just so infuriating!

I totally get it if somebody is sick, I am really really happy if companies use all precautions, makes sense, but Collector Square seems to have a very off hand way of treating customers, both sides of the coin and their authentication is apparently not always flawless, I guess mistakes happen everywhere, but if a website for luxury goods is "too good" to communicate with people who have already paid, I pass. When I got rid of a few things, they sent me quotes where I laughed out loud, some of the items they had on their site really steep prices in not totally great condition, they offered literally about 1/20th for it in very good condition, with box, dust bag, receipt etc. and with the "You should be happy, we are willing to commission it for 300" - err, 300 is what you get if you decide to sell the buckles as spare parts... Not sure how they make their money or who would sell through them

I ordered from them a few weeks ago and had the same problem with the website. I had to clear the basket, and redo the order a couple of times in order to get the pick up option to go away and the option for delivery to appear. After that it was fine and delivery was prompt. I hope you get it sorted.

Good to know I'm not alone.

Their deadline is Mon. I'll email and then call them. Plenty of other fish in sea.

This is one of the reasons I have preferred to buy preloved from friends or B&M places (with the exception of a few HG scarves)..

I have the patience of a saint if it's just a question of searching for the perfect thing unavailable new, , but I have no patience at all for badly run business.

With Covid, Brexit and Christmas. It's all just too much that shopping is a stress rather than the pleasure it should be.

My experience was I think in June or July 2019, way before Covid and during a time when retail is usually quiet, I thought maybe most of the staff is on vacation and they are short staffed....

So pleased you managed to make it work and that it satisfactory concluded.

The basket itself dissappears for me if I didn't check out immediately.

I tried logged in as a guest in Chome, Safari and Firefox and logged in as a member too.

There's no title that works as prefix for my name (a problem because in most European countries we need titles on cards and docs). This meant the name on card does not match their transactions, which meant my transaction was denied twice, and I had to call CC people each time as the flag blocks all further use of the card. That was an afternoon I'll never get back.

And then the non-shipping option

As I said their French phone and WhatsApp didn't work for me. I'm glad for the one number that did work. But needing to call 4 times about the same issue seems excessive.
