Hello everyone,

I’m a new member; I am sure what I am about to say was discussed in this thread earlier;I tried reading but haven’t found anything yet.

I bought a birkin in size 30 a while ago, and Everyone says that the colour is beautiful (it’s blue pale) I regret it now; I’m more into classic colours:(

I haven’t used it and I want to sell it, tried some local resellers with no luck yet. I want to know which website/reseller would you recommend (with the best payout of course). I was considering Vestiaire collective or eBay but after the stories I heard I’m a bit hesitant. thank you in advance lovelies ;)

Anns Fabulous Finds, Fashionphile, Yoogis are some of the bigger ones. If you google resale you should find more. You don't say where you are, but these are US.
Thank you for the reply,

I am based In Dubai. I was just reading (anns fabulous) consignment pdf. It states that the bag will be discounted if it doesn’t sell within 45 day! And if it doesn’t sell by then they can reduce the price accordingly :( I don’t want that. I want to be in control of the pricing/ discount. But thank you for the suggestions. Will be checking out the other ones you mentioned

I have always had good communication with the staff at AFF. They are generally guided by you if you wish to discount. They have never just automatically discounted a bag I have consigned with them. If you want to use them and are hesitant about their terms email them as I have always found them easy to work with.

Thank you for letting me know; I will send them an email and explain that I don’t want my bag to be discounted without my consent.
They don't automatically reduce price on B/K bags. I have only used them a handful times but they never reduced the price on my bags. Only when I tell them to do so. In fact, some time back, people actually posted in this thread complaining about them not reducing prices on their bags! And that they had to tell AFF to do so.

Sometimes I feel sorry for AFF because seems that they can't win.

I’m relieved to know that; because if you check their consignment terms you will see that they mentioned discounts after 45 days and so. But since it’s not forced upon me then I will definitely email them. I have one question if you don’t mind me asking. Do they price the bag? Or should I do that? Thank you

They will recommend a price range for you then you can decide what price you want to start the listing with. I have not chosen a price outside their recommendation. HTH!

Hello all, trying to see if anyone could share their experiences with TheRealReal ( TRR)? I tried to sell this mini constance bag in tadelakt leather, sent it to TRR, didn't sell for months, requested it to be returned, and when I received it, it was damaged - lots of scratches and the protective plastic on the hardware started peeling off. I've made a request asking them not to show this in store, but it was mailed back from the store in LA, came back with a tag with clear signs of being displayed... Overall, an extremely bad experience with them. Now they came back only offering a spa treatment and some small amount of site credit. Not very happy with the resolution but curious if anyone else had similar experiences, and if so how did they resolve the issue?

Thanks!

I haven't had the experience that you are referring to.
If you are not happy with the resolution you are being offered, document your correspondence
& perhaps reach out to the executive offices of TRR. & tell TRR what you want/expect.

My experience with TRR is very bad, too. I sent a brand new B30 in barenia faubourg to TRR. And they did not list as new, and mentioned light scuffs. When I questioned them, they said some light scratches must be due to my handling. I was like WTF?

Anyway, I have been so busy with work and haven't had time to deal with TRR, but I plan to get my bag back after Christmas. Barenia faubourg is a durable leather, and the light scuff will go away with some rubbing. But this is my first time with TRR, and it's going to be my last time. I have no good words for TRR.

It's my experience with TRR that every time you consign an item, their (man)handling adds 3 dog years to it. god knows many pair of hands poked, touched, whatnots before it goes onto the shelf. I have seen it first hand after an item was returned to me. never again! either it stays with TRR until sold or it never goes there in the first place. it's been 5-6 years since I consigned anything with them.

I think, if I may chime in, the problem with these consignment stores is that they grow so fast and over time, they evolve from a personal boutique model to factory assembly line model where it's about number of bags that come in and how quickly they can get them ready for listing. To them, Our 2019 pristine newly scored Kelly Tadelakt or box calf that we never unboxed is just another bag in for sale just like someone else's pre-owned Celine trapeze from 7 years ago and yeah the new associate who doesn't know the history behind Tadelakt or box calf or Celine will be asked to get those bags p"ready to be listed" and in the process get it scuffed or scratched. You know the rest. I have had very positive experience with Ann's Fabulous Finds. The others were just terrible always looking for ways to make you lose money on a transaction. . I Sent a mini Chanel bag to Opulent Habit - brand New bag that I never even opened since I brought home from store. Chain was still in tissue wrap all taped together. I just never unboxed. By the time I saw listing on their site, they described it as having light Scuff. Of course I flipped. And asked them to send me a picture of said Scuff . They tell me it's probably from factory albeit very inconspicuous... they even said they tried to buff it out and I was like omg - why are you buffing a brand new beige lamb skin leather? You will ruin it. Anyhoooo I was determined to not get this bag back from them i.e make sure they sell it. 3 months in no buyer...then they wanted to slash the price even though they already low-balled me the first time. I flipped and told them to ship it back to me. AFF sold it in about 3 weeks. I ve since tried to ensure that whatever I'm buying from the store is for use so I won't find myself going crazy trying to sell anything brand new through these consignment stores
