I tried my luck at all three Vegas stores and no luck. Even if I wanted to make a purchase, there is nothing in stock. Seems like I am going to have to buy my way going through an H boutique and probably won’t even get the size/color I want. Small sizes in neutral colors usually go to vip clients with established history so it’s hard for newbies. I have looked at fashionphile, finklepuff, Vestiaire collective, tradesey, the real real and priveporter and am now looking at MadisonAveCouture and it seems like they sell new bags. But their mark up is twice the cost of retail. Has anyone every purchased from them before? These are the exact two color, hardware and size I’m interested in. If there are other cheaper resellers, I’m all ears!

I have both purchased and sold with Madison Avenue Couture for over 15 years and continue to do business with them.

I don’t want to get OT but you’re getting into the sky-high realm for resale. If you’re going to spend that amount you may as well go to a tourist destination boutique and buy your way to a bag. What do you mean you “tried your luck” in Vegas? Vegas almost always has stock but you may have to crack the spend code to get one. A fine jewelry purchase is often a key.

Have you tried Ann's Fabulous Finds?

@papertiger and @Jbizzybeetle have asked that I make a post here about the prevalence of older designs of scarves now being faked and sold online after a comment I made on the SOTD thread. I l know that fake scarves have been around for a long time but it appears that the older designs - and ones which could generally have been trusted as genuine in the past - are now being printed too. I stumbled across a site yesterday which sells replicas of designs that must surely have a limited target customer base. It describes them as if they are pre-loved but the site only sells new replicas of everything - bags, scarves, SLGs, the lot.
My point is just to remind those who also love the older H designs to just be very cautious when buying. What we used to be able to take for being genuine and vintage may not actually be so. Going by the general availability of certain designs in immaculate condition and identical colourways on eBay it looks like they have now sneaked into the general marketplace too. Caveat emptor!
I misquoted someone else...
Thank you for the update. Do you have an example of a design or era that is being used?:flowers:

They have them from all eras! Voyages Slaves, La Fleuriste, Mors à la Conétable, plissés, jacquards, take your pick... No mousselines that I could see. There were around thirty pages of photographs of supposedly available scarves. Every photograph was in the same format so I don't think that the photos are taken from other sites. Of course, it may be a site that has been set up to simply take money and scam without even sending a fake and they have no stock but I have read elsewhere of how even the vintages are now being found out there so simply wanted to flag it up.

Thank you. I had hoped it was only a certain era but I now see it is all designs now. *sigh* I will have to be even more vigilant when searching on the resale market. Thank you:flowers:

Hi! Has anyone purchased from the IG seller called Jael99ig? I'd love any feedback! Thanks!!

Please don't bother with this seller Jael99ig.
I used to follow her on instagram until I witnessed how she treats her potential clients. Jaw drop! When asked about condition of the bag, she send a few pictures, says its a "preloved" bag with stickers on hardware removed. This is bidding around bushes, not answering the questions right? If there are scratches on the hardware, be forthcoming about it. I don't mind scratches if I am made aware how bad is it before i commit to a price of the bag, but not say things like stickers removed, what do you expect. The bare minimum i expect her to categorise whether this preloved bag is mint, excellent, good, or fair condition. Nope, no description, only send pictures and was very pushy about it (so now she has sent the photos, are you buying or not). Expecting clients to pay her 5 figure worth of bag by looking at a few photos without proper description? The bag condition was definitely not worth the price she was selling at. When rejected, she sarcastically mock her clients by saying things like "give you 2 cents of advice" "if you want flawless bag, try going for a new one that is priced much higher and don't ask about preloved bags". WHAT!

She is based in Malaysia but she wants to collect singapore dollars and charges delivery to singapore much higher that other sellers are charging. Total rip off!

If she is here in this tread, i want to give her 100 dollar piece of advice. Look babe, you better go for intensive customer service course before you serve rich ppl and sell expensive luxury bags. Basically she is just a virtual consigner who does not authenticate the bags, clueless about the condition of the bags she is listing, nor bothered to find out about the actual condition for her potential clients. There are better resellers out there that I have had better experiences. Ladies and gentlemen, take your money and go somewhere else. Avoid this seller at all cost!!!!!

And to complicate matters ...
It is almost impossible to follow the H collections anymore with TOTAL accuracy - which design came in which size? std twill or summer twill ? wool, CS or blend? Which laminated tag ? Which caretag ? The booklets are no longer anywhere-near complete collection overviews.
There are always real rare ones - some off beat fabric or size, does/did not appear in booklet ...
It used to be possible, with some degree of certainty, to QUICKLY say that must be a fake because it never came in that cw/size/fabric
Well, if you dont know EXACTLY how it was done by H, then that approach does not work, you have to do it the hard way - tedious scrutiny of all the details
