I don’t know this reseller but I just wanted to share my recent experience paying with PayPal to a (different) online Singapore reseller.

I came across a hard-to-find H Olga charm (no longer in production) from a reputable Singapore reseller (she also has store in Singapore) and paid via PayPal.

The transfer was smooth and she confirmed the money is already in her PayPal account but when she tried to transfer into her bank account, she got a pop up notice from PayPal saying there will be a delay for security reasons.

It’s been a few days and the amount is not huge (US$1500 approx) but it’s my first time buying online from a reseller so I’m not completely comfortable as the money is already taken from me for sure. She confirmed the problem is at her end but i don’t think she will ship until she transfers the money from her PayPal to her bank. I’m ok with it as the amount isn’t large but I think if i were buying an H bag, I would be way more nervous. Just be careful and ask your seller more questions about PayPal transaction. (Btw I also paid 4.4% fees on top of cost and shipping so hopefully there is PayPal buyer protection if there is a dispute.)
May have triggered an alert. Financial transactions are heavily scrutinized to prevent money laundering, and banks get fined if they don't have safeguards in place. Paypal Singapore has further restrictions to prevent it from being used by illegal moneylenders. It could be that the seller had a good month with many payments coming in, so the total value triggered the alert.

That’s good to know, thanks for the info

Any thoughts on **********? I'm thinking of pouncing on their malachite b25 :P

In the last few days there has been an increasingly large group of brand new TPF members posting about this company. On some threads they ask about them, on others they claim to have made purchases, etc. One member states that the company has been in business for about 5 years on one thread; on another she states that they are a brand new company. Virtually every post of these new members is about the company in one form or another. The whole thing stinks.

The scarves listed by this seller have two photos provided in the listing - both of them the stock photos from H. Leaving aside the issue of infringement using stolen internet photos, there is no way for a prospective buyer to even know what scarf they are buying, much less knowing anything about authenticity. Several of the listed scarves are known to be highly faked - like Samouris. No rational purchaser would buy an expensive scarf under these conditions. The limited photos that I saw on some of the bag listings look useless for authentication as well.

It sounds/looks to me like a brand new company is trying to create some buzz in the marketplace by opening up (so far about a dozen) new TPF accounts and posting about the company, including claims of having made purchases.

Caveat emptor.

Hi everyone, I am currently looking for a Constance bag from them. Is this seller trusted? They ask me pay 10% deposit first, then they will send me photos let bababie to do the authentication. The balance can only pay by bank wire. After paid in full they will ship the bag to me.
Anyone buying from them overseas.

Anything I need to be aware before I purchase the bag?

Thanks
Yes it’s a real physical shop in Singapore I’ve been there to view bags. But I’ve never purchased from anyone overseas so I do not know the payment protocols. Hope it goes well!

Thank you for calling this out. I had noticed this trend as well but am always terrified to post such things on tPF.

Thank you! I was thinking the exact same thing!

And not to downplay the experiences of our newer members, but if I was reading this thread for advice, I would take the input of those new members with very few posts with a grain of salt.

Further, advice about sellers should include your actual personal experience. Thank you!

I appreciate this post a lot. I am slow to criticize other sellers because the blowback can be hideously off-base and mean. Thank you.

I just have sold a Lindy on eBay. I'm in the US, the buyer lives in Hong Kong. The user has been with eBay from 2015 and got a few feedbacks but it's all as a buyer and all of them are from years ago, so no way to tell what items she/he bought on eBay. I couldn't find anything on Google using her/his English name (no clue if it's female or male name, either) or the name in Chinese characters. I could only find what the building the buyer lives looks like, ha. Does anyone know if it's safe to sell oversea? I do not know how the customs would go when it gets into HK, either. Is there any chance 1) the buyer does not get the bag by not paying the customs and eBay refunds the money to the buyers and then i lose both the bag and money 2) the buyer got the bag later eventually but eBay refunded the money already 3) the buyer returns it even though the sale was not returnable and I got to pay shipping fees both ways, which would be $400.... 4) the buyer returns it with a fake......... 5) etc etc... all the horror stories possible....

If anyone had sold oversea, especially to HK, please share me how you handled it not to get scammed.
Thanks!

Hi, I can provide some insight but as a buyer based in Hong Kong, not as a seller. I used to live in Sydney but moved to HK i this year, and have historically been active as both a buyer and seller on eBay, and often buy from online stores both traditional and resale such as Fashionphile. The good news is there are no import taxes in Hong Kong, so the buyer will not be asked to pay any fees upon receipt. The bad news/However - i don’t feel comfortable with the local postage system, so I only use ‘signed for’ and reliable services. The country is very honest in general so I am not worried about theft, more lack of care so I prefer to pay more for a confirmed delivery such as Dhl, ups, fedex etc. But as always do follow your instinct based on the feedback and ratings etc. Being based in APAC I am grateful that people have faith to deal internationally, but you have to be comfortable with the person and the country. And if you are not sure, I would personally lean on the side of caution and not transact.

There's an eBay forum which is VERY helpful with advice to sellers :flowers:

Aw this is amazing to know, thank you!

Yes the buyer did mention that there is no customs tax so no worry for that. I was going to use the UPS with adult's signature. Still debating whether to ship the item or not because PayPal is holding the fund and the possibility of getting ripped after the buyer receives it by wanting to return/returning a fake one/etc. :(

This is basically identical to my experience. I also had to take the bag back and sell it elsewhere. I am sorry to say I am not a fan of AFF; adding to the not great selling experience, as a buyer it is so messy to shop their site.
this was and has been my last few AFF experiences. VERY nice always but very slow to respond and selling takes FORVER with multiple prompts from me to drop price, market, return it, etc. they were always professional but you CANNOT be in a hurry for $$$. JMO
