hello... my first post here. I would need a help and opinion. Have you heard any feedback about collector square or vestiaire collective?

I have an Hermès Pullman in croc leather I want to sell. Is there anyone who had seen it? I have searched hi and low to know the last known retail price but I have no success at all. Purse was given to my mum in law by her aunt and she passed it on me. Purse was made in 1960, and in a very good condition for its age. Please help if you have any information about the purse or have experienced selling with those I have mentioned above. Thanks a lot.

Edited: Pics not needed
Did you do an eBay sold items search? Personally I love the Pullman, it's such a cool model.

I consigned a rare bag with Ann's and they described it wrongly. It never sold and when I pulled it back i had it sold wi8thin weeks. Unlike many others, I was very unhappy with Ann's.
Fashionphile's quotes to me have been hilariously low so I have never even tried.
I have never consigned with Heritage or TRR but I have bought at Heritage and bags seem to go pretty cheap. It also seems unfair that they take a piece of the seller's profits AND a buyer's premium.

I am hearing TRR is the way to go. My only concern would be the sheer volume of the site and how many not-that-desirable bags they sell.
I am sorry to hear that about Ann’s. I think their descriptions error on the side of caution. My bags are listed as very good when in fact they are excellent. I sent them to the spa before I sent them to Ann’s. Prior to the spa they were also excellent but I wanted to make sure that they were the best they could be. She is running a Valentines Day special for the next 2 days and I see both my bags are in it. If they sell I will receive less than the bag that took 1 day to sell at TRR. If they don’t sell then I will ask her to send them back to me and I will let TRR take them.

The opposite was true for two of my bags. I told Anns that they were carried but in excellent condition and she described them as new and “never carried”. I just think they are really sloppy these days. Despite that description one bag has not sold. I think it’s like houses. If they price them correctly they sell. If they price too high things sit around.

I had never considered consigning with the Realreal until I read this thread, so I thought I would reach out for a quote. I do like that there is no layaway, bags are final sale and they seem to get a lot of traffic. I submitted photos (including documentation of the specs) for 1 item to get a price quote, a bi-color special order Birkin 30 in a desirable combo. They came back with a quote calling it a “Birkin 35” not mentioning the SO or Bi-color and giving a quote of $6400-7200 for my portion. I understand resale prices are low, and that would be reasonable for a non-SO B35, but my concern with this company remains that they seem careless and clueless at times.
I have always used Ann’s in the past, but with friends having some bad experiences I wanted to test the waters elsewhere.
I also tried Fashionphile as another option for the first time last month after recommendations here. Honestly, their prices seem too low on some items, too high on others (they wanted to sell my black B35 for almost $10K with 7 or 8 others just like it on the site, I had to call them and ask to reduce the price), I would use them in the future for the buyout option when they offer it, but I have only been offered consignment for Hermès bags so far and it seems like items sit on their site for a long time.
Just sharing my experiences.

Wow. It doesn’t seem like there are any good alternatives. Honestly...,Ann’s might be the best of the worst. My take home: only buy what I’m 100% sure I want to have forever.

My B30 Gris T netted me 10,400 from TRR. I got a quote for 6,500 from Fashionphile. I probably would have netted about the same from Ann’sas TRR, but odds are good it would have taken longer to sell. Are you in an area where you can have someone come to the house? Their pricing is all over the place I think because 70% of the people don’t have much training and little knowledge. The rep I dealt with got me a quote from the right person before my bag left the house.

Yes, it may be that the quotes from TRR are better when one has their representative come to the house. I just did a kon-mari on my shoes and clothes, had my local TRR representative come to the house to vet them and pick them up. I mentioned that I might be interested in consigning a few Hermes bags and she said that she would take pictures and send to their Hermes expert. She assured me that they would not be discounted (unless I agreed) and that I would receive 80% of the selling price. Now, TRR representative asked me for the specs and she was the one who submitted them for me. By the end of the day I had my estimates which far exceeded what I later received from Fashionphile or Yoogi's closet. In the end, I decided to consign one non-exotic limited edition bag (estimate 17-20K). The 'expert' who gave the preliminary estimate clearly knew what she was doing as this particular bag had previously made very high prices at auction. Another very rare bag that was non-exotic that I did not consign (yet) was estimated at 19-23K. In addition, TRR representative made a plug for the higher end of the estimates since the bags were all in pristine condition. So far I've been very happy with how the process has played out but we will see if my one bag sells!

This was the first time I felt comfortable enough to let the representative take a Birkin. I do think getting to the right person is key when consigning. Having a representative actually looking at the bag helps. I love hearing when things go right.

When Ann sent your bag back, did she give you back the box? I sent her my bag with the receipt, the box and all the accessories. If the bag doesn't sell, I'm hoping she sends back everything I sent her so I can either sell it myself or take it to TRR in NY.

I am located in a city with a pick up service apparently. Perhaps I should have asked the consignment representative from the RealReal to meet me, but since I was just testing the waters I thought it would be more convenient to get a quote first through phone/email. I texted her photos and she sent them to the pricing department. They came back within minutes with a quote for an entirely different bag! The consignment representative said that it was common and customary to ask for a price re-evaluation, so she did so. Moments later the pricing department said they were sticking with their number unless I send the bag into the office thousands of miles away. I wasn’t too inspired with confidence from the experience so far, so I declined. My fear is that I would send it in and suddenly it would be listed on the website for the price they originally quoted, it would sell instantly, and I would have no recourse.
I think the Realreal is similar to fashionphile (from my very limited experiences) in that quotes vary widely depending on the individual employee who is pricing it. With the few items I submitted to fashionphile, I had one item they offered $9200 for, then I resubmitted it hours later with the same photos because I realized I didn’t include the box and dust bag in the submission and they quoted me $5400 for the exact same bag!
In the end, it seems our community here has so much more knowledge than these professionals. The price errors and mistakes in product names, styles and so on is pretty shocking to me. I understand that they need to know about a wide variety of brands, but I assume they have specialists for each brand as well.
I think my most amusing experience so far with consigning was a couple of year ago (this came to mind when the discussion here turned to Ann’s descriptions and how sometimes they are rose-tinted and sometimes too harsh). I was selling an Hermès bag through Ann’s, which was described nicely and appropriately, but the description said something like, “it comes with a rumpled dust bag...”
When I saw the listing, I had to laugh. Not exactly language to make a sale, and it certainly never occurred to me that the dustbag looked objectionable or that anyone would notice it more than I apparently did!

I did receive these things back, but this was a couple of years ago, and it sounds like there may have been a few changes in the operations since then.
I sent in some new jewelry awhile ago and was alerted that it arrived with a broken post. They told me that I could send it back after I had it repaired. Since it was newly purchased, repair was free so I agreed. It came back to me with the box but without the receipt. Luckily I had just sent a copy of the receipt. I asked if they still had it, and was told that Ann keeps all receipts in a locked case. I was not 100% confident, so just sent in another copy of the receipt when I sent it back to her.

Oh my! Edited to add that I just checked the website out of curiosity to see if it listed the receipt in the description (answer: no), but the amazing thing is that they are sold on layaway! Unless this just happened this evening....this is news to me!

I actually like TRR for selling. They are much more organized than I thought. I am assigned a representative that keeps in regular contact with me. I think their payouts are fair. There also is an option for someone to come to my home if I choose. I initially sold through AFF. Something had changed thus my try with TRR. I do not buy from either & only sell periodically.
