hello... my first post here. I would need a help and opinion. Have you heard any feedback about collector square or vestiaire collective?

I have an Hermès Pullman in croc leather I want to sell. Is there anyone who had seen it? I have searched hi and low to know the last known retail price but I have no success at all. Purse was given to my mum in law by her aunt and she passed it on me. Purse was made in 1960, and in a very good condition for its age. Please help if you have any information about the purse or have experienced selling with those I have mentioned above. Thanks a lot.

Edited: Pics not needed
If you don't need the money, you may consider keeping it. Honestly it's not a very popular model and resell value is low. If you sell it via a intermediary, after the commission, you really are not going to get much. You can try to sell it yourself via ebay but you might need a nice profile to be able to sell it. You might also need to get it authenticate so that will add to the cost too. Imo, not worth the hassle. Good luck with your decision!

I'm a big fan of the Pullman.

They've been around £2-3K at private sale (Britsh pounds) for a long time, sometimes a lower est is set at auctions but they don't go any higher because sadly they're not so well known. The croc doesn't count for much in some of these older, discontinued models either but if you commissioned one the price would be through the H roof (if anyone could make one these days).

On one hand, these lady-like, structured handbags are in fashion atm. On the other, people gravitate towards styles with their maker emboldened on the outside in case no one could guess how much their handbag cost The Pullman's are from an age when that would have been seen as vulgarity.

Personally, I would keep it. A perfect accessory with a silk scarf.
Wasn't there a very recent Dior bag like this that looked amazing? Sans croc I mean.

Do you mean the Samurai?

The Pullman was a standard shape of the late 1940s, at its height in the1950s that lasted right through to the 1970s.

The reason it's different is not only the ultra secure fastening, like the 404 and the Sac Mallette (one has to slide the side bars out and release the centre bar) but also the inside fittings and the twin outside sections that are handy for gloves etc. I also do't think people realise the larger size is quite a hefty 32cm wide and yet still looks as lady-like as can be.

A ridiculously undervalued bag that H prob. cannot afford to make again.

Yeah, I don't want to complain too much about it, but some of the recent bags seem to get simpler and simpler, even if it's H I wouldn't buy a simple unlined calf leather tote and especially not at 3000 + euros.

I wasn't thinking about the samourai bag, but this one, the sac 21st .

That's closer. I'd rather have a Pullman though ha

Hi all! I would greatly appreciate advice about which resellers would be best for selling some rather rare Hermes handbags. I've received some very good estimates from the Real Real (consignment with 80% of price payout) and will be sending photos to Fashionphile, but was curious also about experiences with Heritage Auctions or AFF for these types of bags. Has anyone here sold limited edition bags with TRR, Heritage Auctions, Fashionphile, or AFF, and how did it go? Many thanks in advance!

I sold an exotic with Heritage Auction. They are great to work with, but I am not too sure about their success rate (of the 6-7 similar styles listed in the same lot, only mine was sold as far as I could tell).

I'm just glad that you didn't mention another consigner whom I used before Heritage Auction. They damaged my bag with a scratch and took no responsibility. I had to swallow a huge loss as a result.

I haven’t sold an exotic but I have consigned with AFF and TRR. I prefer working with Ann but TRR seems to have a much larger audience. I still have a SO B 30 in a nice color combination in chèvre that has been at AFF for 10 months along with another B30 and a Kelly that is on layaway. I sent one B30 to TRR it took almost a month for them to list it but it sold in less than a day and I recouped my purchase price. I sent pictures to Fashionphile and the quote I got from them was 3k less than TRR. I hope that helps. Also TRR site navigation is much more user friendly. Just looking for my bags on AFF is difficult.

Only have experience with Fashionphile. I think that website it's best if you just want to get rid of bags that you don't want and don't care how much money you get for it (i.e. as long as you get something). It's great at taking the old chanel, proenza, YSL, celine... etc off your hands. When it came to Hermes, it's never given me a good price (regardless if it's new or used) and it was always lower than everyone else's price (even lower than Christie's suggested price AFTER you take seller's commission into consideration)

Thank you, @kristyw!

Thank you, @megt10! I was thinking of using TRR and this is very helpful.

@DYH, appreciate your comments. I think at this point FP would be out for the items I'm thinking of selling/consigning.

The best part of TRR for me is that they come to my house and pick stuff up. It’s more convenient than buying boxes, packing stuff up and sending it. I now after several different reps I have one that I think is really good and I like her a lot. I am actually thinking about asking Ann’s to return the Birkins that she hasn’t sold and giving them to TRR. Another thing about TRR is that they don’t accept returns on bags so when it sells you know you will get paid on the 15th of the following month. Personally I don’t think I would buy something that expensive that wasn’t returnable but lots of people do.

I consigned a rare bag with Ann's and they described it wrongly. It never sold and when I pulled it back i had it sold wi8thin weeks. Unlike many others, I was very unhappy with Ann's.
Fashionphile's quotes to me have been hilariously low so I have never even tried.
I have never consigned with Heritage or TRR but I have bought at Heritage and bags seem to go pretty cheap. It also seems unfair that they take a piece of the seller's profits AND a buyer's premium.

I am hearing TRR is the way to go. My only concern would be the sheer volume of the site and how many not-that-desirable bags they sell.
