I know that it's been said before, but I had a great experience with Ann's Fabulous Finds - they were wonderful to work with and the jersey that I received was in better than stated condition.

I have also had good experiences with CDL but only worked with them on preowned or sale bags. They do have a bag I want right now but the price is definitely on the high side. Will they accept reasonable offers or do they expect you will pay the stated price?

I have not bought a bag from CDL before, but prices should be negotiable... just be realistic and reasonable. :smile1: Good luck!

Are there any reliable online sellers that have a good & often updated selection of small leather goods & leather bracelets (shipping international)? I would prefer to buy leather items not new, I think it is a bit more 'green'.

I have workedGet Styled by Lulu both buying and consigning for quite sometime now and every experience is the most pleasant that i have. She is honest and trustworthy and all her items are always as stated.

I agree with Koni. Whatever the overall history of good or bad experiences with a seller, it is fair and pertinent for a member here to be able to discuss an experience.

In a case like this it would be interesting to hear from the seller. I notice that both of the pro-lulu posters are making their very first posts here. It is unusual for two people to appear so quickly, and for the first time, to defend someone. While I appreciate the chance to hear from everyone, and while I welcome new posters, it would be helpful to hear from others.

It would be nice to hear from the seller, of course.

Welcome to tPf modulatetome and lisatung.

Well, I took a look at this bag (http://getstyledbylulu.com/item_450/...m-Hardware.htm) and I must say that even form the very few pictures provided one can easily see that the bag is not BNIB. I am afraid kristie was right

this is all I see on both links "Condition: Gentle used, and remains in pristine condition. Small superficial marks on the hardware and feet."

^^ Yes, this is exactly what it says now. However, as kristie explained the seller listed this bag as BNIB in the first place.

Perigord, I totally agree with you!!!

^^

Curious after the posts of the day, I have tried to get a better look at both the seller and the situation.

First, Kristie's post was over three months ago. Suddenly today two new members come to defend the bag. While I welcome the members, I am thoughtful about how two people made their first posts on the same day about the same issue. I would still think it would be appropriate for the owner to address any issues. Owners are welcome here and are encouraged to respond to issues that arise--as long is it does not become personal!

I have tried to look through the actual listings. I believe the owner likely relisted the bag after it was returned and only partially edited the original listing. At the top of the description for the Black fjord birkin, it states that the item is new in it's box. This is what Kristie described. She also said the original listing said "unused." Now at the bottom it says that it has been lightly used, and described "superficial" issues. My best guess is that the original listing was edited to alter this part of the description, while the "new" description in a different area was not changed but somehow left intact.

Of course, "new" and superficial damage do not go hand in hand. If someone carried a bag around the block once before deciding to sell, it should be disclosed.

I am looking at this listing and at other Hermes listings by the seller.

I do not, in the few bags I have seen, see any authenticity issues. I do, however, see cases where pertinent images are not included and details--such as exact age of the bag--are sometimes omitted. It is my opinion that the owner could do a little more research into the bags being sold, and provide comprehensive images and descriptions.

One example:

http://getstyledbylulu.com/item_433/Sold-Hermes-GM-Evelyne-III-Shoulder-Bag.htm

This is a listing for a "new" Evelyne GMIII. There is no mention of the date stamp, nor is there any image of it. But this bag is not from a recent vintage. It is an Eveyne, and an authentic one, but if you look at the strap and note the absence of an exterior pocket, you will know instantly that it is not a GMIII and it is certainly not from a "new" year. I hope for and expect more fullness and accuracy.

Again, in what I have seen I have not seen issues with authenticity. But I have seen "overstatements" and somewhat insufficient details/research.

Just my opinion. It would be best if someone is buying from this site that they are able to independently understand the age/version of a bag, be assured of the year of production, and be able to ask for any additional images that would be important. The buyers need to be informed and do a bit of homework.

Perigord, you are right! But on the other hand, it is up to buyer to buy or not. I also checked the other listings of this seller, and I have the same issues with you. But then, since I am not comfortable with the seller, I simply don't buy. However, there is no doubt that the information provided is insufficient.
