Curious after the posts of the day, I have tried to get a better look at both the seller and the situation.
First, Kristie's post was over three months ago. Suddenly today two new members come to defend the bag. While I welcome the members, I am thoughtful about how two people made their first posts on the same day about the same issue. I would still think it would be appropriate for the owner to address any issues. Owners are welcome here and are encouraged to respond to issues that arise--as long is it does not become personal!
I have tried to look through the actual listings. I believe the owner likely relisted the bag after it was returned and only partially edited the original listing. At the top of the description for the Black fjord birkin, it states that the item is new in it's box. This is what Kristie described. She also said the original listing said "unused." Now at the bottom it says that it has been lightly used, and described "superficial" issues. My best guess is that the original listing was edited to alter this part of the description, while the "new" description in a different area was not changed but somehow left intact.
Of course, "new" and superficial damage do not go hand in hand. If someone carried a bag around the block once before deciding to sell, it should be disclosed.
I am looking at this listing and at other Hermes listings by the seller.
I do not, in the few bags I have seen, see any authenticity issues. I do, however, see cases where pertinent images are not included and details--such as exact age of the bag--are sometimes omitted. It is my opinion that the owner could do a little more research into the bags being sold, and provide comprehensive images and descriptions.
One example:

This is a listing for a "new" Evelyne GMIII. There is no mention of the date stamp, nor is there any image of it. But this bag is not from a recent vintage. It is an Eveyne, and an authentic one, but if you look at the strap and note the absence of an exterior pocket, you will know instantly that it is not a GMIII and it is certainly not from a "new" year. I hope for and expect more fullness and accuracy.
Again, in what I have seen I have not seen issues with authenticity. But I have seen "overstatements" and somewhat insufficient details/research.
Just my opinion. It would be best if someone is buying from this site that they are able to independently understand the age/version of a bag, be assured of the year of production, and be able to ask for any additional images that would be important. The buyers need to be informed and do a bit of homework.
