Hi guys. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my rant. So I've been waiting for a particular K for almost a year now. The SM told me that he was going to call me as soon as the bag comes in. He's away at the moment so I spoke with his second in charge. I mentioned that I'm still waiting for this bag. She told me that she has seen K's in this color come & go in the boutique. What does this mean?? Did the SM forget about me and offered it to someone else? Am I not a worthy client anymore? I'm very disappointed if this is the case...

Before you accept the assumption that your SM has let you down, consider: Firstly, was there a particular leather, size, hardware color, form (sellier vs retourne) that you specified? Many Kellys in a specific color may come and go, but their other characteristics may not meet your requirements. Secondly, not every bag that enters a boutique's inventory is available to be sold by a particular SA. A Kelly in your color may have come in as an SO or PO for another client, or as an item dedicated to a particular SA other than yours. Finally, why would the SA say this? It is disloyal to the SM and the boutique. Is it possible the SA is trying to get you to work with her/him by tacitly suggesting that others at the boutique are untrustworthy? Before you burn any bridges with this SM/boutique, do contemplate these possibilities and plan, perhaps, a polite conversation with this SM about when "your" Kelly might arrive, versus leaping to the immediate conclusion that you have been disrespected. . . .
Just MO. I do understand the disappointment you feel, and wish you good luck in acquiring your desired Kelly!

Hugs to you. Do not take it personally. As Mindi stated, there could be any number of reasons for not being offered your specific request. I also suggest having a non-accusatory courteous conversation with the SM, leave your emotions out of it. Wish you lots of luck. Your Kelly may be in your hands soon.

Has anyone felt mistreated when the SA found out your AUTHENTIC H bag was purchased from online resellers?

I texted my SA with the picture of my new pre-loved SB Birkin w/ GHW in clemene chartreuse. My intension was to share the good news and get her recommendation on the Twillys to go with it. However, she replied "I would NOT trust purchasing that online. It may not be authentic."

I understand her concerns, and I know she is looking out for me. But I knew it is authentic because I had bababebi to verify.
Somehow, I feel like I am a second-class citizen now. :crybaby:

I think it's two things based on my experience with my own lovely SA and home store.

1. They wish they could have sold you the bag/item/whatever to keep the sale and make the commission
2. They get concerned that if they have to take it in for Spa for you there is a risk that it's deemed counterfeit and destroyed and they do not want to upset their customers by telling them that. Fakes put them in a very awkward situation.

There's probably a nicer way for her to have said this but they won't encourage buying used in my experience. Try not to take it personally. My SA knows I love vintage and can find some good deals, I also helped her by recommending a few consignment places for her as she gets clients who experience the buyer's remorse once in a while.

Thanks, MrsOwen3! I fully agree with you.
Feel better now! ;)

I used to be Chanel client when it came to luxury ....until I walked in at my local Miami District Hermes store. My SA Andrea B. is absolute best .I am so grateful that she was the one who greeted me with her big smile first time i walked in the store and made me feel comfortable and welcomed.Every time i want to come around and see new collection I like to make sure she work that day .She knows my taste and answer my questions with patience and knowledge.Hermes quality and craftsmanship is absolute best and Andrea certainly represent the best.I just purchased a pair of slides/shoes and she went above and beyond to find me my size...last pair in my size in the company .I just had to write my opinion after I read about some unfortunately "not so good" experiences at some stores and express my appreciation to my sweet valuable SA.Thank you PurseForum readers .......

It can mean that the version of the bag you want is being made, so it is likely that one will come in and you will be able to get one. Don't assume the worst.

I could not agree with you more about the miami store. The staff there is simply the best. My sa, Jackie, goes above and beyond to get me want I want as well as to introduce me to new items she thinks i will like. She just got me my dream bag and was just as excited as I was. I love it there and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

It's good to hear about how many great SAs are in Miami! I remember walking into the Miami boutique some time last year (quite hesitantly) because WPB boutique has never made me feel welcome and I was so amazed how nice everyone was. I stuck to purchases in Europe prior to that (but after WPB experiences). Jackie was the one to greet me and that totally turned my FL H experience around. I posted her in the recommended SAs thread after my initial stop because she was so sweet and gracious! I've worked with both her and Carol since then and they both try to look through things, suggest new things, or try to locate what it is I'm looking for even though I only purchase smaller items in the US.

No no not at all. I think MrsOwen3 is right, there might be genuine concern if it's not authentic. SAs don't all know that we have bababebi! Commission's not an issue but there is also a slight point of pride for an SA to please their customer (OK, some SAs, some don't seem to care much :p) . Still, more than half my collection is pre-loved and my SAs have seen all these bags and complimented them. My craftswoman wants to buy my 1952 Kelly if I am ever tired of it!
Rather than being second-class citizen I would say finding a color of your dreams at resale shows that you are a discriminating collector.

On a different note, DH picked up a bag for me in Paris today. My DH is young-looking, wears jeans and hoodies (albeit expensive ones) and sneakers everywhere, generally looks like the Ramones-fan software guy he is. He was treated TERRIBLY until they realized he was picking up a special order and was part of a recognized client couple, then all of a sudden lots of love and all kinds of things that had been held for us. My DH is a lovely, personable, friendly man, so i'm quite disappointed in the store's initial reception.

So sorry to hear about this Quelle! I'm stunned! This was at the FSH?

I'm so sorry to hear that QF.
Unfortunately, sometimes people judge each other by their appearance. DH likes to tease me when he sees me carrying the B in workout outfit. To me, nothing wrong with it. That's how I am, and I feel comfortable in this classy but casual combination. I am already bundle up in the professional look 5 days a week, and I don't carry any H bag into the office due to the similar reason like yours. I want every bit the freedom I have outside the working space.
However, occasionally, I feel the need to dress up and look presentable when I visit Chanel and Hermès.

That is so disappointing to read.
