I love the BH boutique and respect the SA's response. It's honest and forthright. There's nothing inappropriate in the SA's answer to a direct question. Limited supply of any product should be reserved for clients who are deemed valued by the supplier of such, IMHO.
PorscheGirl ~ I think those back stocks are reserved or already spoken for..... most (if not all) regular customers probably already have their name on the "wish" or "wait" lists for a long time waiting for SA to call them one by one
. It is very normal for this practice, all about supply vs demand. It just happened to me when a Chanel purchase (not just with H)....was told "not available anymore" clearly it was still available according to the department store inventory sheet. Oh well, my SA was not fast enough to grab it (LOL) so the hunt continues
....too bad I was on the bottom of the "wait list".

I'm one of those people on hold for a birkin with my lovely SA and have built some purchase history with the BH stores.
I apologize to you about the availability of this bag, but in theory as being fair those of us who have been on wait or wish list for a birkin at this store should at least would be notified when it is in the store since I have asked for one previously.
My comments are not to offend anyone but if the item that I requested was available. I would purchase it if I could over the phone or at least try to make it within 24 hours to purchase it in person.
At some store there may not be a wait list for a particle birkin in that color, hardware, or leather but often times there are many people waiting to buy the bag from weeks to months to years
I think the SA was honest and genuine with you. I think
that is so much respectful than those who give you false hope

+1. This is much better and more honest and logical than telling lies about it. I would answer the same if I were an SA;
"We don't receive as many B/Ks as we like, and we have to reserve the ones we receive for our long term clients that waited fore months/years for a B/K and cannot give it away to new customers just walking in the store. Sorry."

Actually that is exactly the kind of response that I would prefer to hear. I hate the game playing and when I decided I did want a Birkin I asked my SA what it would take and he said much the same thing and gave me very explicit ways in which the store I go to selects who receives them. He was very upfront about it and I have simply adored him ever since. I am heading there today and I expect that I will get nothing but the best service.
Yup, the one thing I insist on with any SA I intend to work with is, "No games." If you can't offer me something, tell me. I'll live. But no false promises, and no false excuses. Hermes is what it is; I can live with that. But I won't be played for a fool.

Congratulation. Looking forward to pictures. I am going to LA for business in October and will stay in Anaheim part of the time. Have the opportunity to visit SCP and the BH store. Do you recomend either store to look at scarves, beachwear and jewellery? Perhaps also small leather goods but no bags.

I have not been to the BH's store, but I know that they have a larger selection. Since you will be in Anaheim you will be much closer to SCP. If you go ask for Thomas and tell him Meghan sent you. He will take good care of you. He helped another PF member find a lot of things that she was looking for while visiting.

Thank you megt. I will keep an eye out for Thomas. I have two days in BH and five in Anaheim so it should be plenty of time to browse H.
