I'm thinking my first trip towards Las Vegas area after the first of the year maybe I'll stop at the Tod's outlet. Any idea what kind of sales they are likely to have in January or February? From my experience, they always have a group that's additional 50% off and then a group with further reductions.

X-actly! I had never thought of it that way--get it, check it out, return it--it seemed like too much of a hassle for me. But I just couldn't resist this one! I can't wait to see if it's as awesome IRL as it is in the pictures.

This is what a fake TODS looks like

See the nylon zippers, TODS NEVER uses nylon zippers. The pull tab on the inside zipper is too big. It's a 'good' fake and had it had metal zippers, I would have questioned the strap but would not able to say 'fake 100% sure'.

It's good to have a look at these when they come up so you know what to look for in the future.

Wow this is scary. This person has 99.9% positive feedback. Does that mean nothing? I'm one of those people who is scared of Ebay and this makes me more so. Did you report this one?

I had a recent experience with a fake Tod's. I was planning a trip to AZ and called a consignment store to ask if they were taking in clothing. The woman told me she was loaded with stuff--lots of cashmere, designer bags, etc. I asked what designer bags and she mentioned a red Tods. She didn't know the model and was not sure whether it was real or not. She was selling for $30. I got excited, thinking maybe it was a red Miky, but thankfully not too excited. When I walked into the store what I saw was a small bag made with kind of hard leather. I immediately thought this style wouldn't suit me and possibly it was a very old Tods. Upon inspection, I was sure it was a fake and told the SA that she could tell the owner it wasn't real. I wasn't angry, just thought they should know. But this bag wasn't even trying very hard to look real. I guess there are all kinds of fakes from the almost perfect to the crappy.

Most fake TODS are pretty easy to spot but this one is pretty good, except the zippers give it away immediately.

I'm a huge fan for the D-Bag and bought a black patent one at the Tod's outlet in September. I paid just over $1000. Yesterday, I dragged my husband into a new consignment shop in DC. I almost passed out when I saw a red patent D-Bag behind the counter. The price: $138!!! I'm not a huge fan of even gently used bags, but this was too good to pass up and is pristine condition! Needless to say it came home with me! :smile1:
