There are lots of threads about buying from overseas sellers – Japan specifically. You might try a search. I will merge this thread with another of the same topic.

Hi I just purchased a vintage bag from Japan a. Becuse it was in the best condition from the pics compared to US sellers.b the price c. Had it pre authenticated here d. It was made in USA I only buy preloved made in USA LV. Now I just have to wait and see if it holds up to my expectations lol to be continued....

I am in the US, and have seen some great bags on eBay that are being sold out of Japan. I am reluctant to purchase these because I don't know how much the extra fees will be.

Does anyone have any experience with buying items overseas?

How does the whole additional costs like duties and fees work?

Buying overseas is much like buying domestically in the US. At least that's the case in Hong Kong. No duties or fees included, and total you'll be paying for is list price + shipping cost (~$20-30).

I've only dealt with Japanese buyers on my site, but they are honest and direct!

Hope that's helpful!

I have always great experience at Japanese reseller. Brandoff and Elady always sells authentic items. They will usually respond to your question her quick! Those are the only 2 reliable sellers from Japan that I trust so far : )

where do you live?

This is different in each country. :smile1:

I purchased my gorgeous Hermes Birkin from Japanese seller marumanshichiho. The beautiful handbag arrived in better condition than stated. It arrived VERY quickly through the Post Office and no custom charges (I was scared out of my mind not knowing how much they would be). I looked it up and I seem to recall it was 9% at most. The Japanese seller was uncertain and thought it would be 6.5%. I never thought it would be $0. Bonus. She just came back from Spa with Docride and had her corners touched up and looks new. Oh, I forgot to mention she is from 1999 and came with the clear film still over the hardware. I can highly recommend this seller!

Yes I've bought from japan_monoshare twice. Happy with both bags. 1 was authenticated here and another was authenticated by carol diva. They packed item nicely

Thanks😊I saw that their prices for bags are conparatively one of the lowest.& there are negative feedback given that some of the bags received were not authentic. Thus, I am concerned.

Nz customs is charging me nzd $90.00 for a bag with a value of $465.00 usd. I have to factor it in when purchasing it is quite high. So means i am paying more than everybody else!!!!!! I think custom fees are charged if your overseas purchase exceeds a certain amount. $60.00 is maximum waived amount. Japanese sellers have bags at this amount but these are usually graded low. I have yet to purchase this grade from a seller but I will keep ya'll posted. I think this level is D - lots of visible wear etc.. Last grade before it is recycled.

Hello! I tried to search to see if this was posted already, so hopefully I am in the right place!
Looking to buy a Cartier Love ring in a few months, and would love everyone’s thoughts on sellers based on Japan. There seem to be an awful lot of them and I was wondering if anyone could list any sellers that they had a positive experience with when it comes to designer pieces like Cartier?
Thanks so much!

I've had positive experiences with many Japanese sellers but I must warn you that you are more likely to incur import taxes when you buy watches or jewelry from Japan. Items used to be shipped via USPS and I was rarely charged import taxes, but since the pandemic most sellers in Japan ship via FedEx or DHL. I purchased an Omega watch shipped via FedEx and had to pay import taxes.

Oh that’s good to know! I will have to google import taxes. Thanks for the info! ❤️
