Tiffany x Supreme?

Yea I’m not anti Supreme. I just think at this point in time when it feels like they are having an identity crisis, it would be nice to secure something more long term rather than just hype beast based. Because then once the hype is over….then what? Or maybe hype and fast fashion trends will be Tiffany’s new identity? Idk.
And maybe I just don’t see the appeal of Supreme personally, I feel like they just slap the word supreme on things without thinking of intention or design. So I’m just heavy on the meh.
….maybe I’m aging out of their targeted demographic?

If Tiffany’s goal is to bring in more people that purchase street wear then they need to find a permanent designer who can add that perspective. Someone who can create pieces that embody the style. Supreme has a following but the people who buy Supreme are not staying for Tiffany. It will be a one time sale. Many of the other brands- like Gucci and LV- already had a street wear following- so adding Supreme may have made more sense.

I'm more cynical than any of you.

Seeing this from the other side too.

Supreme seem to have X'd with 'everyone'

Here are just 25 others: https://www.grailed.com/drycleanonly/best-supreme-collabs

I found the KAWS' Original Fake tee 2013 to be disrespectful to women/girls/models/Moss and Supreme signed that off and let that go out.

Missing from the above was the Pat McGrath Matte red lipstick (which made the Supreme logo look even more like like generic toothpaste)

I'm thinking Supreme is a cheap collab. As cheap as a 2-bit floozy.
It's literally only a name. It's the cheapest ever 'Warhol experience'.
They obviously have no design expertise and have to shape-shift
It's now become their shtick, it is actually now just a 'graffiti' tag (apologies to graft artists everywhere).

From Tiff it's just to get more young wannabe-young people taking their first look. Literally, they are investing in a Social Media ad - and that's all it costs them - at short term. Longterm they've figured out people who don't know who Supreme are are too past it to care. It'll be severely limited stock so they can instantly create scarcity and write SOLD OUT everywhere which leads to the next Supreme one night stand (coming to a space rocket near you soon).

The Moss shirt was definitely disrespectful towards women!

I guess Tiffany doesn’t mind sharing marketing space with Playboy

Sadly, I think you’re 100% spot on @papertiger - it’s a short-term marketing ploy without them having to invest in actually designing anything. Probably just slap “Supreme” and/or some red on their classic pieces.

I would love to see Tiffany do a collaboration with Beats by Dre! It would be cool to make a headphone be in Tiffany blue wrapped with a white ribbon design. Tiffany could then make the matching charm!

@AntiqueShopper I don´t know what you were expecting from supreme? Personally I´m pleasantly surprised, I thought it´d be more garish and well supreme-isch...

I probably won´t buy anything regardless because of my disdain for supreme but it´s not as bad as I thought.
I was fully expecting them to fully lacquer the charm in red.
