Tiffany Setting E-Ring

To me, smaller carat solitaires always look like something is missing even if sparkly and good specs. I am not an over the top bling person, and like clean lines over swirls and multiple halos, but this style with a small stone just calls to attention how tiny the stone is. You will get major shrinkage after having it a few years and will want to upgrade.

The best look is the channel set band for sure - the e ring needs that. Something to consider about this setting: I have the knife edge band in platinum that I wear as a spacer with my upgraded set or plain when I can't wear diamonds (it was my original plain wedding band) and I don't find it comfortable for everyday wear. The band irritates the fingers on either side.
This is not true for everyone!

Hi! My husband and I looked absolutely everywhere for my engagement ring -- at first, we were both sure we could find something "as good as Tiffany" for less. Still though, an engagement ring is something you always wear, and having impeccable craftsmanship really makes a difference. So many rings -- even expensive ones with huge diamonds! -- seem to have an "unfinished" quality to them. They scratch, snag, etc., and I realized I'd rather have a smaller stone for the price along with better craftsmanship. Plus, it seemed like at other stores we'd have to be super strict on specs -- for example, you could realllllllly see the color on a "G" stone and any mention of inclusions meant a cloudy diamond. We were both more comfortable with Tiffany because all of the stones by default (regardless of color/inclusion grade) look bright and clear.

Another thought! This is probably very minor, but if you decide to go with a diamond wedding band- be aware that Tiffany & Co. use G, H & sometimes F colour of diamonds in these, so it may be possible your centre stone might look warm next to your wedding band if you decide to go with an I.

My E-ring is GIA graded J color. Pics are paired with the Tiffany Novo, F color diamonds. I don’t think it looks warmer... I’ve checked in various lighting conditions & they pair like they are meant for each other:) Best to try in person once you decide on your e-ring. I like the channel band the best out of the 3 choices... Best of luck!

Our e-rings are very similar! Does yours have diamonds set around the basket? Here's mine :)

I agree! Your e-ring doesn't look warmer than your Novo band at all. As I said in my original post, the e-ring MIGHT look warmer. Definitely not in your case. Gorgeous set!

Thank you so much for the long reply! It is tough, it's totally depends who you talk to because my family think I'm nuts for going with tiffany as they keep telling me- you can find the exact same thing in Hatton garden! But I don't think you can... it just doesn't seem the same. The thought of buying a replica gives me a similar feeling to when I almost purchased a fake designer bag when I was in Thailand haha! I think if I was going to go non Tiffany it would have to be with the mindset of not trying to copy them!

I think when it comes down to a it I'll probably just go with the one that I like best in person because really once this obsession calms down (and I am obsessed!) I probably won't even remember the specs. Which wedding band are you going for/have you gone for? I was completely convinced I wanted a plain band but now everyone saying the channel looks good has got me thinking about the half circle 2mm channel from Tiffanys...

No problems! Hope it's been of some help.

I can totally relate to pretty much your entire post! Haha. I felt the same way about the idea of getting a replica. And yes, finding your perfect ring definitely becomes an obsession. I'm pretty sure my SA dreads me coming in because I just want to try on everything in the store!

I actually made my final choice for my wedding band over the weekend and we have sent them away for engraving. I decided to go with the 3mm shared setting band. Have you considered that band yourself? Or the 2.2mm? It's simply gorgeous!

Are you being swayed by the comments/opinions on here? Are you starting to love the channel set more too now, or are you still sold on the plain band? A plain band would definitely be more practical, but the channel set is generally pretty sturdy and a bit of extra bling always helps to draw a bit more attention to your beautiful set!

Please keep us updated!

I agree with @girlybride about a plain band being more practical, which I guess is dependant on the job that you do. I work for the health service so we are required to have plain bands with no diamonds in. Also DBF would go for a plain band and then we would match (which I think is a sweet thing). But please don't feel pressured by our comments! The channel set looks nice with the plain band of the solitaire, and @kbell's Novo band looks beautiful too. I am excited to see what you choose!

I think a plain band would be lovely with the Tiffany setting! In my previous post, I did write that I liked the channel band best of the 3 you posted, but the other 2 looked good as well. I think you should go with whatever you like the most. Definitely don’t go with the channel band just because of our opinions

FWIW, I went with the classic Tiffany wedding band (not knife-edge), but in the 3mm instead of the 2mm. While I love diamonds, there’s something really beautiful about a simple, solid metal band for a wedding ring with a classic solitaire. It’s a timeless look!
