Tiffany engagement ring with SI1?

Yes, I would want to see the SI first obviously but I think it could be a good choice as long as it was 100% eye clean, which I would assume at Tiffany's it probably has a good chance of being that way.

Did you asked tiffany to do a store search for you? It seems that you are not too sure with these 2 rings. They will transfer rings in from different stores if you give them an idea of what you are looking for....

personally, I prefer F color but I am not comfortable with SI1, it's with the recent economy that tiffany is doing the SI1, previously, they never go lower than an I color and VS2 quality.

I'm so upset, I asked for another search and it turns out the sI is sold and now we aren't left with many options. Like zero that were happy with. Now I really don't have a clue what to do!!

They get new diamonds in all the time. Keep getting them to search every couple of days until they locate one you want to look at. You will have this ring forever, wait until you get the perfect one. Don't settle.

Are you in a rush? They should have lots of stones to pick from in the company. Make sure you are looking a lots of different stones and picking the right one.

Last year I looked at: 1.58 H SI1 and 1.62 I VS1 both in an emerald cut solitaire. I thought the 1.62 had a much better "sparkle" and I loved the look more than the 1.58. They were price difference was a few hundred dollars.

My boyfriend was hinting at a Christmas proposal which I was really hoping for. At this point I think it takes 6-8 weeks to bring in so that's even closer to new years if we found one now.. I'm really hoping something comes up. I don't want to rush, and I don't want to wait. However it'll be with me my entire life so what's a few more months I guess!

^ Canadian inventory is much smaller and Tiffany will not ship something in from an American store to the Canadian store; so wait times for new products to become available are much longer in Canada:nogood:

I should only take them a few days to bring in a ring for you to look at, unless they are on hold for other people.

I recently picked out a ring for my best friend, and they had one ring in while in a week and overnighted the other one in so I could view them on the weekend.

Where are you? If you are close the the states, you may want to consider getting it there. We have no TAX in oregon. The ring my friend is getting is nearly 2000$ cheaper here!!! And I had several to choose from!

Sounds like you're not sure about the rings those particular rings picked out for you. I would wait till I get the perfect one, closest to the specs I'm after.

Quote from Tiffany. "Over a lifetime, a woman will look at her diamond ring more than one million times. ". Do you really want to look down and have doubts?

I agree with Princess, maybe go down to a store in the states. If not, he can still propose with a promise ring and you two wait for the perfect one.

They might get more stock in as it's close to the holiday season. Good luck! :D

We are actually working with a store in Troy Michigan, and she is going to keep doing searches for us so hopefully everything will work out. I'm sad the sI is sold already but I'm not sure if I would of been ok with the sI. Also, now we know if we see something we MUST jump on it! I had no idea the soleste ring was so popular!

a 1.04 I vvs2 is a very bad choice in my opinion.
I kind of feel the same way. I would hesitate to invest a lot in a large stone with an I color and would probably opt for a smaller stone with a better color. That said - you didn't mention the cut. A bad cut can ruin any stone regardless of color or clarity.

I suggest that you check out bluenile.com to look at diamond grades, sizes, styles, etc. You don't have to buy from them but it may help you get a better idea of your choices and how they relate.

Remember too that an SI from Tiffany's can be the exact same stone as an SI from anywhere. You'll just pay more for the brand. SI is eye-clean so it should be fine with a reputable jeweler. If money's no object then sure - go for biggest and best - but there's a good chance you won't be able to tell the difference between some of the grades anyway.

Happy shopping!

I probably shouldn't ask this, but does it have to be Tiffany's?

I had mentioned to my boyfriend that we should go look at other places or have it made. He refused. I'm lucky in that sense, he wants it to be from Tiffany's and wants to spoil me, but I am giving him options so I try not to feel bad.
Plus with Tiffany's and a ring with more than one diamond, I'm making sure if a diamond falls out they will take care of it. Plus free cleaning! We just feel more comfortable and we know they aren't going anywhere.

- I had looked at some rings at Tiffany's and can't tell a huge difference between the sparkle in the ones higher or lower in color/clarity. I wasn't told to cut actually but I'll make sure to ask.
