Can 100% corroborate this. I just got this bag in the dark beige, and I haven't even worn it anywhere, only used it to take a few pictures, and I think there's a small noticeable part on the tip that seems to have rubbed off.
I would recommend getting a darker color because it shows wear better.

The plain single chevron style is apparently discontinued for a couple of years now. Only the large is still being produced in very, very limited quantities. This is what I heard but not entirely sure.
