Thoughts on Saint Laurent YSL Envelope Bag?

I actually have it n black and used to have beige at some point , sold the beige because of wear and tear in the edges , I think it’s inevitable and by deep inspection i can see it n the black too but hardly noticeable even if u look closely on the contrary of the biege which was obvious I think the wear in tear n the beige one would be more obvious so I recommend the black one rather than the beige because of this

I purchased the medium envelope in black with silver hardware. Does anyone know if there’s some kind of serial number or authenticity stamp, and where is it located in the purse?? I bought it from Bergdorf Goodman and just yesterday saw a thread about someone complaining that they got a fake designer bag from BG...now I’m worried! I tried to “self authenticate” everything else visual (the stitching, hardware, logo, the black/white card, the dust bag, etc) just can’t find info on whether there’s a serial number (like a date stamp on a Louis Vuitton). The nearest boutique is quite far from me, so trying this first. Thanks for any tip!
Serial number is embossed into the lining Inside the interior pocket behind the leather tag.You can feel it with your finger, not sure how to read it though since that pocket is tight

For those who have the medium envelope bag. How is the quality holding up so far? I am looking into getting the beige one. I am also torn between medium or large. I have went back and read the posts but still cannot decide what bag to get. This is what I usually carry:

Chanel card flap holder
LV 6 key
LV Key Cles
A small makeup pouch from MAC
sunglasses (usually I leave them in the car but sometimes do need to put in my bag)
Phone
The large one looks big and bulky to me. Almost looks like a brief case but I am big girl (US size 10-12 and 5 4). Any thoughts? TIA!

Hello! I recently purchased a black with silver hardware medium envelope myself after reading through everyone’s posts—super helpful! Upon inspection when I got home I noticed a fraying stitch on the side of the bag and on one of the leather handles. Is that normal? Will it get worse over time? Would you bring it back and exchanged for another one? Or am I just being overly picky? This is my first YSL purse. Any help is appreciated!
I have the medium in dark beige, and other than the wear on the glazing of the envelope point, I still love my bag.
I also wouldn't recommend the large. I tried it, and it looked bulky and weird, and I'm not even that small (5'6", athletic build).
Since the bag is structured, I'm not sure if it will a makeup pouch, sunglasses, and a mini pochette, especially if you have a sunglass case. You might have to sacrifice one of them. Although I've never actually tried to stuff my bag, so it may fit.
I usually only carry my LV6 Key holder, a few masks, hand sanitizer, phone, and sunglasses (no case), and I still have decent room left.

It was too small for me and not being able to fit both makeup pouch and mini pochette is a deal breaker for me as I tend to carry them both usually and also a lot more. I agree about the bigger one although I tried it in the store and it didnt look that big TBH. But I was wearing a coat. I am sure it will look big/bulky without a coat.
