There is something about Cassie...

All this cracking is making me nervous. I'm in Australia - the bag costs $650.00 here. I purchased one from eBay from a seller in America - l received it today. I'm too scared to use it in case it cracks. I doubt Coach in Australia would do mch to help me if mine cracks, considering l purchased it from overseas!

Just to clarify... for those of you who have experienced cracking, is it when you see white through the black glazing around the edges? Some pics I look at show creases which would make sense (like on the DE edges on a Neverfull for example) and some have bubble holes. I want to understand what I’m looking for. Thanks :)

View attachment 4497036 I have been using my Cassie almost everyday since the day I got it. Super easy to carry and fits everything I need. After reading in this thread about cracking I went to check my bag and sure enough, a tiny crack in the bend of the flap. I’m mindful and never push/pull the flap too far up when opening as I know it can be a problem with flap style bags and wallets. Honestly, I’m a little bummed. It doesn’t look bad (yet) as I didn’t even notice until reading it here. Otherwise the bag still looks brand new. I purchased from Nordstrom and if it gets worse or starts actually peeling I know it will get taken care of.

I can completely understand your point and would be bummed, too.

However, I wondered: it's a full leather bag and even though it does look dangerous, it can't really hurt / destroy the leather underneath or can it? I know that LV doesn't do repairs on Canvas bags when the glazing is off and the canvas is cracked, but shouldn't a leather bag be "immune" to further damage???? I really really want to get a Cassie but this issue makes me sad and worried

I think the glazing is mostly just cosmetic and isn’t going to hurt the leather underneath. Almost all of the older coach styles have unfinished edges and that leather lasts forever!

If I get one, I’ll just find a similar color of Edge kote And fix it myself when it needs it. It’s very easy to do. One of those containers last for ever too.

Actually, if I remember right, that company matches it’s color specifically to coach.
Sorry to ask this again - I asked in the rehab thread a few days ago bu haven’t gotten a response - but do you happen to know if the mahogany or dark brown edge kote best matches the coach edge stain coach uses most? TIA!

I walked into the coach store the second time this week, and after 20 minutes debating between chalk, black, and pink.... I went with PINK! The experience is so crazy - I still wasn’t fully convinced in the store but once I went home and put my stuff in it - I’m totally in love! The leather is so buttery soft it’s amazing! Btw I checked and there’s no glazing issues on mine phew... let’s see how she holds up! Also I’ve been reading that people are saying this bag is like a pink and red color block combo but to me it looks like two shades of pink, a brighter and darker. I don’t see red in it at all...

I doubt it would damage the leather underneath but I honestly don't know. I think edging or glazing on this bag in particular is more cosmetic. I have seen really bad cracked edging on other leather bags before and it looks pretty ugly, so that's really why I hope it doesn't get worse. Overall, I still love my bag and I'm not going to worry too much about it. I would still recommend this bag and I think you should get a Cassie if you really want one.

Congrats on your new Cassie! I thought it looked like two shades of pink as well. I also read people refer to it as Red and thought it was just me that didn't see it. :)
