There is something about Cassie...

I've never been a big fan of Coach, but I can't stop hemming and hawing over the Cassie 19! The only issue is the colors it is currently available in. I love the black, but I've already got 2 black crossbodies from LV and YSL. The chalk is beautiful but I've never owned a white bag so I don't know how much use I would get out of it. Plus I'm afraid it would get dirty. Does anyone know how often Coach comes out with new colors? I can't decide if I should pull the trigger on the Chalk while it's on sale, or if I should wait it out. Ideally I'd want it in saddle, but it doesn't look like that color is coming anytime soon. Sorry for the novel!

I just got chalk and love it. I use Apple spray to protect before use and will use Apple conditioner to get anything out if it happens.

There is a blue color Cassie 19 on Macy’s site.

We have all waited for saddle in regular size for over a year and nothing! Maybe they’ll finally add in one or both sizes some day [emoji23]

I had the same exact dilemma! Most of my bags are in darker / neutral colors because I am so afraid of getting a white bag. However, I purchased the Cassie in chalk and it is a beautiful color. I personally think it is more eye-catching than any of the other colors as it pairs beautifully with the brushed gold hardware. Since you already have more expensive bags in black, I think the Cassie is a reasonably-priced bag to "test" a white bag on.

I did post questions on Purseforum threads asking others on their experience with white Coach bags. Most of the responses were that they did not find their white Coach bags to stain easily and that they found their bags were still in excellent condition even after they used it regularly. I've read that if you were to get color transfer or stains on it, you can use just a makeup remover to wipe it off.

Seeing the bag in person, the leather is also coated so it doesn't seem to stain easily. I think you could also spray it with a protective spray as well.

One thing I do want to caveat is that even though the bag is stunning, the bag was pretty heavy once I loaded all my necessities in it.

Yeah, I'd definitely want to put a protectant on it if I decide to buy the chalk color.
I saw the blue color on the Dillards site as well, but that shade isn't really my thing. I tend to stick to typical neutrals:amuse:
I feel like saddle is such a no-brainer and would sell like crazy, I don't know what they are thinking! That's the color I need, anyway.
BTW, has anyone ordered online from Dillards before? Just curious if it was a good experience. I know department stores can really be hit or miss.

Thanks for the info, especially the insight from others who have the bag in Chalk. I think I read previously as well that the chalk doesn't get dirty as easily as one may think. But it still makes me nervous, as I'm used to being pretty carefree with my darker bags!
You make a good point though, about the lower price-point making the Cassie 19 a good way to test a white bag out. I just wonder how hard it would be to style, which I know sounds silly because I mean its still a neutral. But I tend to wear a lot of black, olive green, and darker neutrals like that, with an occasional white tee or tank here and there. So I don't know if a white bag would look out of place? What are your thoughts?

I've ordered from Dillards. Unless you are certain you'll keep the bag, be forewarned that you have to pay for return shipping to them (unless you have a store nearby or their policy has changed).
Have you checked out the signature combo options (taupe/signature, lilac/signature, etc.)? I'm usually not into siggy stuff but I like it on this style.

Well crap! Thanks for the head's up. The cassie 19 is currently on sale there for $206, so that's why I was thinking of ordering from there. Sucks about the return costs though :( I do have a Dillards about 45 mins away, but it might cost me just as much in gas as it does to return by mail :P
I'm not a big fan of the signature print, so I would probably pass on those combos, but I will say the muted colors of the one in your profile pic is MUCH better than some of the combos I've seen in the past!

I think a white bag would go well with all the colors you mention. The style of the bag in white, in my opinion, is on the casual yet chic side so would go well with everything. I feel like the bag would look especially nice being white because it will stand out against your outfit more. :)

I've bought from Dillards before. Shipping was quick. I bought the taupe Coach Cassie and didn't like it. I did pay for the return shipping and while I do not like paying for return shipping, it was a very seamless refund process. I was refunded pretty quickly.

Ugh, I hate paying for returns. I feel like all the big stores should have free returns by now. I guess I've gotten so spoiled from places like Amazon and Nordstrom, that when I see a site that doesn't offer free returns I'm a little put off from buying from them. But at the end of the day, $90 is a pretty good discount I think. Any idea how often Coach.com has sales? I prefer buying directly from the brand, but obviously I want the best deal!

I wear a lot of the same colors you wear. I wear jeans often also. I once owned a Coach legacy bag in white leather years ago (smooth leather so easier to get transfer on) and because I had pretreated, I was able to easily wipe it off so it never stayed on there. Just checked after a day out with it each time. I feel like Cassie won't get that as easily, if at all because the texture and coating, but I will still take the same precautions.

I am not a fan of owning a blue bag either so get it. Also, the Cassie 19 in chalk (or other colors) seems to go on sale at Macy's often and they have free shipping/free returns. I have avoided Dillards because I don't like paying for shipping/returns. lol. Coach won't have a sale on Cassie 19 in these colors right now as they are having their summer sale right now on bags they are trying to clear out. I would guess the next time there is a PCE/discount on all items is after this summer sale is over. I don't recall when they usually end the summer sale though so it could be a bit.

Dang, I wonder if I should wait for Macy's to have another sale. I have a feeling the Dillards discount is just for the holiday weekend (even though it doesn't specify - just says "limited time offer"), so that's what's making me feel like I should jump on it now. I'm not familiar with the kinds of sales Macy's has, so I wonder if the discount would be as much if I waited on them instead of buying from Dillards. First-world problems, amiright?

When I got mine at Macy's, it was $206.50 (then I used my Macy's Rewards money and gift cards to end up only paying $37!), which is 30% off. Last time Coach had PCE was also 30%. If you want to avoid paying shipping and can be patient, you should wait it out. Also you can check for e bates to reduce it a little more (Macy's and Coach both participate usually).

Holy crap!! What a deal, good for you! Yeah Dillards has it for $206.50 right now, with free shipping, but of course not free returns. Literally the free returns is the only thing holding me back, which I know is ridiculous. Well, that and the silly fear of owning a white bag :P

Have you watched YouTube videos on it? Maybe that will help you seal the deal lol. I'd get it at Dillards knowing I wasn't going to return it, but that is me. ;)
The three different straps make it like three different bags plus I found I can use two of the straps on my other bags!

I've watched sooo many videos  I'm a big believer in informed purchases. I'm especially glad that there are so many videos showing the chalk color specifically. The three straps is one of the things that really drew me to it - I love the versatility! What a bang for your buck with this little bag!

This thread is dedicated to the Cassie bag. It is fast-becoming a favorite among the ladies here in the forum.
What are your thoughts about the Cassie bag? Do you want to have one? Do you own one (or two, or more :yahoo:)? In which color/s?

Please feel free to share photos of the bag, modeling shots would be nice too. PHOTO from the Coach website:

OOO. This is pretty. I just stumbled across this thread and was curious was a Cassie is.

My first ever designer handbag was a Coach.. handed down from my mom. I still have it to this day. Never getting rid of it and the leather and workmanship on it is impeccable.
