And if I remember correctly there are lockers just outside the Grizzley River Rapids (in CA Adventure) that you can use while riding that ride--without having to pay. I got soaked on that. LOL.

There has been some great suggestions for bags already so I will skip that.

Grizzley Rapids is my favorite ride. You get SOAKED!!!

I am not sure how many people will be in your party. But here is a little tip to save you LOTS!!!!!!! of time. Only if you are willing to split up.

I know for sure this works for the Rapids you can do single rider. Which means if there is an empty seat on one of the rafts they use single riders to fill it up. The only negative part of this is you do not get to ride with the rest of your party. It is worth it to me. Usually the line for this ride during the summer can be over 3 hours and there is not much shade. If you do the single rider I have never waited for more then 5 minutes.

I know they also do single rider on splash mountain. Another ride that the line can be over 3 hours and I have never waited for more then a couple of minutes.

I am pretty sure Splash Mountain is the only ride at Disneyland that does single rider I am not sure if more rides besides Grizzley does it at California Adventures.

How long will you be in the Los Angeles area? What other plans do you have? If you need any advise feel free to ask.

I think Indiana Jones has the single rider line too. There are lots of Disney websites that give lots of hints, my favorite is mouseplanet.com

well i went into the newbies forum but i dont think i was suppose to ask questions there. =p oops.

i am new to this but i had a question.

my bf and i are going to disneyland not disneyworld.
and i wanted to know what type of bag should i bring? i was thinking of bringing a small shoulder bag but i am worried that it will be too small.

i want to bring:

money
cell phone
chapstick
sun screen
camera

maybe a few other things as well.

anyone have any ideas on what type of bag to bring?

thanks

I am a fan of backpacks when I go. Something that can resist water too. Kipling, Lesportsac, Longchamp, Prada....anything nylon.

Le Sportsac messenger = perfect Disneyland bag

My go-to Disney bag ( I've been three times in the last six months) is a Le Sportsac Tokidoki campeggio, which has the added benefit of keeping children entertained in line. I like to have enough room to stuff a light jacket in there.

You do look great Swanky - you wear that well! I like this post because I am going to DisneyWorld in Feb with my DH and kids and have been thinking about what bags I am going to bring (priorities you know!) Never been a belt bag person but after seeing Swanky's pic I just might get one. Either that or a backpack.

Do not bring anything super nice or that will get ruined. Definitely Le Sport Sac if you have one. You might be getting wet on some of the rides. My daughter ruined a Sidekick cell phone there awhile back. I always bring a large tote that can expand to hold a jacket, souvenirs, water bottle. Backpack or LeSport Sac is best.

I go to Disneyland quite frequently, so a friend gave me a "Nightmare Before Christmas" bag. It is coated canvas so I don't have to worry about getting it wet or dirty. The last thing you want to do is worry about getting water spots on your LV or something.

I go to Disney World once a year (September this year!!) and prefer a large messenger since I have to carry a whole day's worth of stuff. I have a Francesco Biasia Nylon and leather messenger and a couple of Ameribag Healthy Back bags from Lands End that are great for this.

Have fun at the park!!

We just booked our trip to Disney - going in April. Now, what's a good bag to bring? I've got a swingpak - but do I need a tote of some sort? Can you bring fruit, water into the parks? Do I need a tote, or not really? Can we use one of our kids backpacks do you think????

I was wondering if I should return my bridgit and get either a heritage tote, or an ergo????

TIA

You can definitely bring snacks and water. It will be much cheaper, but you'll probably not want to carry it around all day. It's much easier just to buy what you want, when you want it. They have lockers you can store your stuff in. My only concern is that if you have a big bag you won't be able to go on the big roller coasters very easily without a locker.

I think swingpacks are great for amusement parks. But, if you want to hold more maybe a Coach backpack?

I think the swingpack and then some sort of cheap backpack. Whenever we go to Disney we take a backpack with bottled water (you can always refill at drinking fountains so you don't have to carry a ton of them), snacks and lunch.. it is SO much cheaper and we usually end up buying one meal there anyway. Anyway, we usually take it around with us and being able to put it on both arms the weight isn't too bad and we can trade off.. last time we checked it into a locker but it was more of a pain because it was expensive and then when we needed something we had to go clear to the end of the park to get it! Just my .02 ;)

I would recomend taking something that isn't to bulky or burdensom. I'm not sure about Florida, but at Disneyland some of the rides (space mountain in particular) didn't seem to have enough time to store your purse properly before the ride took off. Also bring something that you are used to, I am used to carrying a swing pack when we would go, and the one time I took a larger bag, I ended up leaving it in soaring over california. It was the end of the day, and I was so tired, I didn't realize until the next morning :wtf:. Thankfully, we lived close enough to Disneyland and thier employees are really good about finding and holding lost belongings.

I really miss living near Disneyland :crybaby:, I have gone back to California 4 times in the past year to visit (thankfully my pass was still good for all but 1 visit) You will have a ton of fun there!!
