The Worst Hermes Color EVER!?

While I appreciate the color saturation H achieves on their hides I think all the super pale colors like Ciel, Poussiere, Jaune Poussin etc look washed out and dull. To me they lack the same crispness of the next shades darker but to each their own of course! I also find blue jean dated and wish they would update this color.

+1!!! Totally agree!

I'm not a fan of Blue Jean either--neither the color nor the name. I hate Raisin in Togo and Clemence but think it's gorgeous in Box Leather with gold hardware. I hate to say it but I think Rouge H in Togo is awful. And no thank you to the strange salmon colors like Rosy and rose Jaipur.

My favorite colors are graphite in Ostrich, rouge vif in fjord, rose shocking in chèvre, amethyst in croc/gator, and fuchsia and cyclamen in any leather. I love the cooler toned pinks, reds, and grays apparently. 😄 Black box is so classically beautiful and I would definitely not kick Orange Togo with gold hardware out of bed 😉😂.

To me, chocolate in anything but box (hate browns and don't even wear brown in my wardrobe), blue jean (such a blah color) , white (I will never carry a white bag or wear white shoes_, pale pastel pink (dull), and pale pastel blue (dull) does not work for me. I also dislike etoupe which leans towards light brown and completely washes me out (I'm definitely in the minority here)

Then again, I love jewel tones, the concrete etain and olive. So glad that all our tastes are different so that we have an equal chance of getting colors we love!

This is a fascinating discussion, which shows how differently we perceive colours. I LOVE ciel and rose dragee, if only I could find them! I went out of my way to find brown bags ( chocolate, ebene, Havane) which I find work well with casual denim, crisp white shirts etc. brown also is the sort of colour that ages really well. Now - wait for it- I dislike hermes Orange, bright reds or any of the primary looking colours. I find them too harsh for our London light. Not keen on etoupe either, too tasteful and a tat contrived.;)

Interesting thread:

Hate any of the childish colors: bright pinks, shocking greens, cyans or super bright blues, even Bleu E. I feel those will not last by the time I reach middle age.
Hate bleu jean too. I think it looks terrible on my complexion. On some others beautiful.
Hate browns. Sold all my LV mono bags for a reason, Browns look so drab on me.
Hate...... H orange, potiron (gasp) I cannot stand anything orange colored. I think this is also a childish color one may tire of. A color my kid would wear until she reaches say 8 yo.

Bleu jean looks like a dulled-out version of turquoise to me. But then I've only seen in in the display case, from a distance. It might look fine IRL.

Back in 2011, some wrote that their skin had yellow undertones so they hated any tones that made them look like a pickle. Person liked cool colored jewel tones. I love pickle tones. But my skin has red undertones so only yellow or cool jewel tones will work, red is too strong unless it's muted to a burgundy or aubergine. It's interesting how the skin undertones have such a determining effect on color preference. Pickle on!

Bags in bubblegum, light or baby pink and any pink for that matter.
I like pink in SLGs and very small bags or clutches. So I guess it's not a color I dislike, just not a big panel of pink. Maybe if I had a baby girl I might get into a pink mode, who knows. Fingers crossed girls!

Rouge H, I'm still on the fence on this one. sometimes I love it, sometimes I don't.

Purple I do not dislike it but I can live without it. I had a couple of purple items, they're nice but looking at them doesn't get to me the way say any shade of blue, etoupe, grey and black does. Gold is nice too, I'm regretting letting go of my gold birkin but consoling myself that I will get another one next time but with GHW.

First, I hope none of these comments are hurting anyone's feelings. I remember a couple of months ago someone revealed a new-to-them Birkin in Blue Jean and she was ecstatic about having hunted it down in good condition. If you love your Blue Jean, don't worry that it isn't universally loved on this forum! You love it and that's all that matters.

I haven't seen many colors IRL so am only going by my computer screen in many cases. I'm not a fan of etoupe but I have a feeling that it's mostly because of the white stitching. I just don't think it looks good together. But the white stitching on my gold kelly looks natural to me. Go figure?

I had a blue orage picotin in clemence and bought it sight unseen. It was shipped to me from Hawaii when I lived on the east coast and was so disappointed with it. I saw a blue orage togo and loved it but in clemence, I just didn't like it.

My other dislikes are the neon color bags. Like the one Khloe K had painted recently. I didn't even like it to begin with and maybe she didn't either which is why she let that artist paint all over her bag?

I'm also not a fan of baby pink. So for all those wanting rose sakura, you have a little less competition.

this thread is so funny and interesting!!! :giggles:

but i concur with everyone who said that i hope no one is offended by the comments here; variety is the spice of life! one of the amazing things about Hermes to me is that it appeals to such a wide variety of taste and preference, and that is a good thing!!

so here are the colors i dislike (gulp!! :death:): dark and blah (in my opinion only of course!)
- gold
- bleu jean
- rouge H
- browns like alezan, chocolate, toundra, ebene, etc
- salmony pink/red/orange wishy washy colors like rosy, sanguine
- anything too dark - dark purple (raisin), dark blue (indigo)
- olivey green - canopee, olive

now, colors i love (i may be in the minority here!! :p) - bright and light! :sunshine:
- blue-green family: lagon, bleu paon, bleu aztec, bleu izmir (only in gator/croc for BI)
- rose shocking chevre, rose sheherazade croc/gator
- lime, soufre
- parme, violet
- capucine, bougainvillea
- menthe, bambou, kiwi, vert cru, vert emeraude croc/gator
- neutrals (light): craie, gris perle, gris tourterelle, white
