Silver definitely feels more casual and understated to me whereas gold has a dressier feel to it. I think both are great but it really boils down to the occasion and the outfit you have. Agree with the previous TPFer that champagne (light gold) is a good in-between. My only WOC has that and is super versatile. Photo for reference:

Thank you! I really like the champagne but don’t want to purchase from a reseller. Did you purchase this recently in a boutique ? do you think my chances would be good for finding this in boutique?

I got this new from the boutique four years ago. It’s probably worth going back to your local boutique to see what they have in stock.

Re: silver hardware, I have silver hardware on two other bags but they aren’t WOCs (one is a classic mini and the other is a reissue). They are both older bags (one is over 10 years old and the other is 9 years old), and the silver hardware still looks amazing - very shiny!

Thank you for sharing your experience with the silver hardware it’s very helpful. If you were to replace or already did do you have any preference on shw vs ghw? I’m 60% silver - 40% gold but since I dress mostly casual Im wondering if the ghw could help add a little something to dress up a casual outfit vs silver kind of blending with, if that makes any sense 😵‍💫

Thanks! I replaced it as quickly as I could as it was such a staple bag for me. I'll be honest, hardware color used to be more important me than it it is now. I mix my jewelry without thinking about it.... literally nothing on me matches lol

I really feel I’m the same way as you so I have no idea why this has been such a hard decision for me. It’s honestly made me feel a little nuts at this point lol

From saying all that, lambskin isn't as delicate as people think. It still looks amazing. I'll post pictures.The strap is a bit darker probably from dirt and clothes? Idk. It doesn't bother me though. I haven't done any spa or cleaning to it. I never put any spray or protector on my bags either.

I'd steer clear from patent. Once you get any imprints on it like ink from a book or magazine or color transfer from your clothes, you can not take it out. I have one long wallet that is patent and I rarely use it for that reason.

By " smooth calfskin" , there was a "smooth iridescent calfskin" in 2013-2015 that wore horribly. It was more like suede so it attracted alot of color transfer and rubbed alot so I'd be careful of that.

Omg I have the same red lamb skin WoC from that year but have been so scared to use it. I was even contemplating trading it.

On that note…I have a few LVs I want to sell/trade and was trying to think of a bag I could pass on to my daughter maybe? I was looking at the black caviar with ghw. I was worried that WoCs were out of style but glad to see people are still using them!

I love my WOCs! For my life they are great and such easy bags to bring on vacation as well.
