Did you just use regular black thread, like the thread you'd find in a sewing kit? Mine is white so it's a little obvious (my bag is a midnight blue).

Yep just a regular black one! I used a needle to go through the chain about 10-15 times, just be careful not to touch the leather. It stays put!
Thanks for all the comments! After thinking about it, I’m taking the plunge and getting Leather Surgeons to shorten the strap - hopefully I don’t regret it but since I have no intentions of selling the WoC I hope not. Also taking the opportunity to fix a frayed thread in the corner which looks to be getting worse :-/
An update - got my WOC back from Leather Surgeons and love the shorter strap! Love how I’m able to wear it crossbody now without constantly adjusting the bag so the extra strap/knot doesn’t show on the side. Also got a frayed thread on one corner fixed - before and after photos:
Never thought I’d buy one since I initially settled with the idea that woc is too small and the design for flap and strap will wear/ damage the bag easily.
But who else can beat calf-leather woc for traveling purposes (maybe mini reissue?! Lol)
Anyway… hope to use it soon!

I used it a ton when I first purchased it, and back then not many people carried it.
Now I only really use it when I go travelling abroad since I don't need my regular wallet.

Absolutely, I had to replace two less than a year ago due to theft. I couldn’t repurchase fast enough! They’re perfect for events for me (pro sporting events, concerts, etc…)
I got every dollar back with price per wear personally.
Love that I can wear crossbody, double the chain for shoulder or tuck it in for a clutch.
I agree with Swanky that because of cost per wear I would definitely repurchase even with current prices. Granted I haven’t used it as much lately since my youngest is 11 months and I need to carry a diaper bag most days but I will sometimes use it as a wallet/catchall in the diaper bag.
Wallet on chain was one of my first Chanel purchases and it’s one of my favourite it is the perfect bag to take shopping or somewhere where you don’t need to carry a big bag and you can wear it cross body without having to worry about anyone stealing off it off you walking around. The price will only increase, so if you’re thinking about it is better to get it sooner rather than later.

Hi! They charged $175 plus shipping to shorten the strap and fix the frayed thread. I got my bag back within two weeks.
Finally I found my dream WOC pre-loved (but I would say in non-used condition) ; - ))) I really searched a lot for the ideal color that fits to my wardrobe. It is the 21S Rose Claire color, which has a little cooler rose undertone (more lilac than yellow). LOVE it and will start wearing it next weekend ; - )
