The WoC - Wallet on Chain thread

Looking at potentially getting this in black calf skin. After reading a bit more about it I'm a little concerned about the edges wearing. Is this mostly just due to wear and tear or a defect with the wallet/bag? Chanel don't seem particularly helpful when people have visited a store which surprises me given how expensive these items are.

So, is it worth it?

Are you talking about scuffed leather on the edges? If so, my WOC has no scuffs yet. I haven't worn it often, probably less than 10 times since buying it in May and I'm not overly careful with it. I think the edge scuffs could happen to any bag if it rubs against something abrasive.

My only issue with the WOC has been the tops of the sides started bowing after few times of gentle use. I searched here on the forum and most people said their WOC's didn't bow that way. I took it to Chanel and they refused to help and said it's normal. I'm very disappointed & bec of this I'm not using it as often as I intended to.

Other than that I think it's a wonderful piece to own if you plan on carrying nothing but your keys, a few cards, a lipstick and a phone.

None of my WoCs (or any other styles) have corner wear. Not even the 15 yr old lamb WoC I had. I don't baby them but i guess I’m careful enough not to rub up against anything as well.

I don’t think so. I bought one in May, it’s a lambskin black with gold hardware. It barely fits anything. I’m selling mine and waiting on Fashionphile to give me a quote. Also the drop is too long. I only used mine one time so it’s basically brand new.

Mine in caviar (purchased more than two years ago) developed a loose thread on one corner but otherwise hasn't scuffed anywhere. No idea how the loose thread came about - the stitching is not unravelling but one of the threads is definitely loose and "sticking up". It doesn't bother me enough to ask about repairs though...

According to my conversation with customer service this morning all black caviar woc are sold out in US. Just wanted to check before keeping the shw. I think there might be some in boutiques if you keep going in, but nothing locally by me.

Im getting rid of mine, since I only
Used it once and it’s lambskin the offers are low
How low if you don't mind me asking? Is your shw or ghw?

Supposedly, caviar leather is not that superior in durability in comparison to lambskin but a lot of people just want caviar even if they prefer the feel of lambskin and sometimes it just boggles my mind. I just think why pay so much money only to not enjoy your bag as much as you would have if you got the leather you want. A lot of people buy these items for investment reasons only and sadly, it's the people that choose the "undesirable" leather that miss out.
