Dear LV Wallet owners,
Hi!
Need your logical & practical advice. I purchased my first LV wallet in mid June 2018.Its a Sarah Wallet in Monogram canvas, as I wanted a large but well organised purse so that I can carry all my cards i.e. debit cards, IDs, loyalty cards etc in one wallet along with enough space for cash. I have DE cles for coins seperately. I’ve been using Sarah Wallet in Monogram canvas for whole year without changing out of it. I don’t misuse it but I don’t baby it as well because when I buy a wallet whether Coach, MK, Gucci or LV, I intend to use it. Therefore my wallet is in the same comparment as my mini pochette, reading glasses (soft & squishy case); long champ fabric pouch for catchall; iphone 7 plus and tissues. My keys are in 6ring key holder zipped away in a seperate pocket. Two days back I noticed slight dents on my wallet’s glazing. I sent my SA the photograph of the glazing but as my SA is on leave I will take it to the LV Store after few days. Most probably I’ll have to send it for repair. I would like to buy another Sarah Wallet either in epi leather or emprinte leather as a “travel”wallet few months down the line. I want your advice about which of the two leathers is more durable in terms of scratching and peeling of glazing? Also how long does it take for tight and stiff epi leather to soften?

Hi @White Rose, I would said Epi leahter is more durable than Empreinte.
Empreinte leather is soft and luxurious, but I heard the imprint will finally 'smooth out' in long run. I don't know how true this statement is because I do not own anything in Empreinte leather, except a Speedy which I had exchange it for Alma in Epi leather in the end due to the glazing issues.
I had a Sarah wallet in Epi leather and used it for years before I change to a new wallet. It is care free and I love it alot. Also, I don't remember the wallet is stiff. Or may be my memory has fail me since I had it for few years already.

Thank you for your realistic feedback. After glazing problems with Sarah Mono wallet, I don’t want any canvas wallet i.e. Mono or DE. I also want Sarah Wallet in epi leather as I can’t “baby” my wallets or baby anything else in the purse as well. I’m very careful about how I put them as my each item in my handbag has a placefor it, even if my bag is a big black hole. But I can’t put my wallet in a seperate compartment like many ladies do! I had bought a Zippy wallet in emp. for travel , but throughout the journey I kept worrying that my other items in the purse don’t scratch my wallet. Your logical feedback has only made my decision clearer to go for EPI leather.

I see, since you own a wallet in emp leather so you should have better idea on how much care needed to attend to the wallet.
Just to clarify, glazing issues existed on both canvas and leather bags or slg. Sometimes it is just luck or certain leather will prone to have this issue. Hope you find your ideal wallet soon.

Any idea, how durable is Sarah in Vernis leather?

I am afraid of
1) fingerpritns - I am OCD, I will keep rubbing on the leather in order to get rid of the fingerprints
2) the maintenance of the shiny finish of the leather - I am afraid of scratch it or the coating will melt under hot weather if keeping for too long (as I am living in tropical country)
Of course these are just my opinion and may not be accurate since I do not own any piece in Vernis leather.

White Rose, I have the Sarah wallet in the now discontinued color Rose Indien. The finger prints don't bother me so much because it's not as noticeable due to the lighter color. I have had my wallet for four years now and it is still just as sturdy as when I bought it. There are no cracks or glazing issues and the color is still beautiful to me.
I loved the Borough line so much, love the combo btw!
I obviously have a SLG obsession lol. I always tell myself I don’t need another wallet yet..
But they’re so beautiful I can’t help myself.

Hello @White Rose! I don’t think the wallet is too heavy at all. I weighs more than the mono canvas wallets (like a zippy coin) because of the hardware and the leather but I feel like it’s about the same weight as an empriente zippy coin or empriente victorine.
