Glad there now is a Trendy thread! I‘ve been admiring the Trendy since 2017 when Chanel switched to producing it in light gold only which has always bothered me as it doesn’t suit my personal style in that combination, although I adore it on others. I always felt it made the bag too formal on me. Been looking for one of the first Trendys with ruthenium hardware but without any luck. Last week I was browsing the usual platforms here in Europe and stumbled upon this beauty. It was listed under the wrong category and for a very good price (it was implicated it came from the Ventes Privées). Since I had never seen this combo, I wanted to see it in real life. It came today and it is just stunning. A slightly coated calf with tiny blue specks of glitter, the hardware is ruthenium. It actually is a sample, not from the private sales, so of course this explains the price (it was authenticated by Jerome Lalande and I got it authenticated a 2nd time, just to be 100% safe). However, it seems this is one of a kind and an absolutely unique Trendy one will never find again. Just wanted to share this eye candy as I think it is such a special bag.

Thank you so much! I consider myself quite lucky to have found this, although others might shy away from a sample, I simply admire its unique characteristics and quality. I will still enjoy everyone's pictures of the beautiful and more elegant light gold hardware Trendys in this thread.

I already wondered if Chanel ever put that particular leather in production but I can't recall having seen it with this blue shimmer (it reminds me a lot of the coated leather for this season's So Black Classic). Actually, you are right, it is not Ruthenium (distressed and aged) but it's also not silver and the pictures make the hardware look a bit lighter. It's quite close to black hardware but not as dark and has a uniform appearance, so I put it in the Ruthenium category (darkened silver), sorry for the confusion! It's the gunmetal-coloured hardware as seen on some Boys in the past.

Although I adore the look and feel of lamb skin, I consider it quite fragile, especially compared to the older lamb leather I used to own. While I think Caviar would not suit the Trendy, a lovely distressed calf combined with ruthenium or silver hardware would make a useful addition to the Trendy line.
